making a route sticky
...te some monitoring script (and call it from cron) that would check if route is present and attempt to readd it if needed, but I'd rather be able to have the route either sticky (not removed when interface goes down) or automatically reenabled by the kernel when interface goes up again. wireless card for CentOS
Hi, I'll need to buy a new wireless card. I need a recommendation for PCMCIA wireless card that simply works with CentOS out of the box. By "works out of the box", I mean that it doesn't need ndis wrapper (or whatever it is called), kernel hacks, or whatever. Thanks

centos 8-Streams kernel?
Hi, Does anyone know what is happening with centos 8-Streams kernel? It has been behind RHEL for months now, RHEL8.7 has 4.18.0-425.3.1.el8 built in December and Streams has 4.18.0-408.el8 built all the way back in end October. Is there some policy somewhere that I missed that says that 9 will be now getting the focus or whatnot? thanks,

IE 6 SP1 crashes on pages with Scriptaculous
...loying those scripts, IE dies with: "Application Error 0x0eefade occured in the application at 0x77e738b2..." Has anyone experienced this? Any ideas how to solve? I can''t repeat it on several comps I tried, no matter how much I try - it always works as it should. Regards -- Aleksandar www.aplus.co.yu

Creating CentOS DVD from scratch
...file (or whatever it is called). Could somebody please save me from downloading 2+ GB DVD image containing files I already have (which I probably couldn't do anyhow, I probably can't use torrent, unless it is using port 80 (?), and there's no DVD image on CentOS download site). -- Aleksandar Milivojevic <amilivojevic at pbl.ca> Pollard Banknote Limited Systems Administrator 1499 Buffalo Place Tel: (204) 474-2323 ext 276 Winnipeg, MB R3T 1L7

Large server, Xen limitations
Hi, we''re contemplating getting a large new server, where we will run a number of virtual servers. Are there any things we need to keep in mind in that case? Are there limitations on what a Xen system can manage? We''re talking about a 4 x Quad core CPU server with 64 GBs of RAM and a couple of terabytes of RAIDed SATA storage. -Morten (Re-sending this, as the first message

Compiling OpenJDK8 with LLVM for mips64el
Hi all, Thanks for Aleksandar Beserminji great job: https://reviews.llvm.org/D50437 It is not easy to reproduce the LLVMBUG-38221[1] by building OpenJDK8, it needs some workaround https://raw.githubusercontent.com/xiangzhai/jdk8u-dev/master/Workaround-compile-with-llvm.patch LLVM toolchain[2] is just able to compile OpenJ...

deprecation of UsePrivilegeSeparation breaks container use cases
...eficial for a lot of users to keep the option present. Container users becoming more and more every day thus IMO container use cases need to be very well covered. Do you have other ideas how container use cases can be covered in the future without giving the users dangerous privileges? Updates offered annoyance
...ok when I have good internet speed (@work) but when I am home, this update takes a lot of time. I guess I can skip updates but I wasn't experiencing such annoyance with CentOS 5.4. My gues is that when CentOS 5.4 was finalized there is no updates to that DVD. Is there any suggestions ? -- Aleksandar dipl. ing. [PATCH] replace fchmod()-based heartbeat with raindrops
This means we no longer waste an extra file descriptor per worker process in the master. Now there''s no need to set a higher file descriptor limit for systems running >= 1024 workers. --- I just pushed this out to git://bogomips.org/unicorn.git and it''ll be in Unicorn 4.x. The subset of raindrops used by Unicorn should work on all machines with mmap(2) +

Few questions concerning clipping
...rse, the input file doesn't have clipped parts? Is it possible to avoid clipping at all (if the source isn't clipped)? On the other hand, using samples that are already clipped, clipping can't be avoided so the encoder only has to take care that it doesn't sound worse...
