Problem installing rails with gems
I have ruby 1.8.4 and gem 0.8.11 installed on Ubuntu Dapper.
Now I wanted to use gem to install rails (as documented in the wiki).
That worked fine, but afterwards, the command rails is not found.
It seems that the gem install command does not place the binaries in the
apropriate directory.
The instruction pages at the Rails websites show that one cun simply
type "rails" after the gem

VPS hosting
Speaking of hosting, have any of you used a VPS provider that offers
gentoo as the VPS OS? All of the ones I know of use fedora, debian,
ubuntu, or CentOS.

Mongrel 0.3.13.3 -- Ruby Licensed Release

INSTALL
As usual, you install it with your friendly gem install method of
choice:
gem install mongrel

Wazzup with the rubyonrails-talk Google Group?
I just got a Google Groups notification that I had been
subscribed to http://groups.google.com/group/rubyonrails-talk.
Looking at the page, it appears that about 4300 folks have
been subscribed. However, I saw nothing about this on
rails@lists.rubyonrails.org. Wazzup?

''Best'' IDE for testing and debugging
I''m trying to decide which IDE to go with for RoR development. I put a high premium on integrated test automated tools and debugging capabilities. I''d appreciate any sharing of experience.
I''m currently running Instant Rails on a Windows 2000 box (using IR due to problems I encountered trying to get all the components set up individually). Also, I''m using

DHH''s Post on Ruby Talk -- Rails 1.1.5: Mandatory security patch (and other tidbits)
We''re still hard at work on Rails 1.2, which features all the new
dandy REST stuff and more, but a serious security concern has come to
our attention that needed to be addressed sooner than the release of
1.2 would allow. So here''s Rails 1.1.5!
This is a MANDATORY upgrade for anyone not running on a very recent
edge (which isn''t affected by this). If you have a public
