R-0.63.1 is released
I've put up R-0.63.1.tgz up for FTP from Auckland some minutes ago.
As usual, don't get it from there unless you are desperate, but wait
for it to be mirrored at a CRAN site near you within a day or two.
For those who *are* desperate, I've left a copy in
ftp://blueberry.kubism.ku.dk/pub/R-devel/R-0.63.1.tgz
(Be gentle, that's my desktop PC!)

alternate gem repo?
Hey folks,
I''ve looked through the docs, and the mailing list, but for the life of me
I can''t figure out how to specify an alternate gem repository for a
package.
From the docs, it looks like I should be able to do source => whatever,
but this seems to just send gem looking for a specific gem at a url,
rather then the more general alternate source for the gem. It looks

Hi
Hello to everybody,
I just subscribed to this list. I find R a really nice
environment for statistical analysis.
I started to use it some days ago. I use it at home in my Linux
box, but I would like to use it in my institute in my Digital
Alpha (my machine runs OSF1 V4.0). I tried to compile the
distributed source code, without success due to some errors. And
the binary available is in RPM

Rewritten Language Tutorial
..., and let''s do what we
can to enhance and correct this page over time. I think the
existence of two pages confused things before, so hopefully a single
page will make things easier.
Comments welcome, as always.

Modifying a firewall
I''m trying to be able to use puppet to modify an existing firewall on a
web server.
The idea is that if I use puppet to do this, then if the machine ever
has to be rebuilt, aside from backups, I have a documented
configuration.
I looked at the module that was on the wiki that had a perl program and
what not, but I don''t think I''m clear on what my thinking should be
