Hi There, Debian squeeze, samba 3.3.3-1 I am currently trying to use a samba partition to backup windows machines to, and am always warned that the destination does not support NTFS attributes, hidden attributes and system attributes. Are there any config options to enable these in samba? or does samba not support mapping these to something on the linux side? Any help or links to documentation

...was previously OK, this happens after i messed up some of the files owner and accidentally change it to Apache. Although I restored most of the file permission back to Root, the problem above still appears which I suspect is due to permission. Does anybody have idea where to look at. Hi. I've got a new Centos 5.1 x86-64 server that uses PHP to communicate with MySQL5. On this server, PHP/Mysql connections are dead slow and unresponsive. It takes sometimes up to a minute to list tables in phpmyadmin for example. I've verified on the server that the issue has to be PHP/Mysql related. If I use a CGI based Mysql admin tool, communication is fast and there are no delays.

What is the closest open source mail server I can replace exchange with that provides the nearest equivalent in user experience? Greetings, There is a requirement of Samba server with the following specification: There are two groups: Designers, Draftsmen The share folder hierarchy is Project-->Final Now the Designers groups should have rw rights for Projects and subfolders The draghtsmen should be able to upload only files (not folders) to Final subfolder. They are not allowed to modify/delete anything anywhere.
