ahh nevermind
The new flac frontend has a "Replaygain" option enabled by default.
Kinda foolish to have this on by default if it butchers the sound like
this. I can understanding the need to normalize when batch encoding
but on a per-album basis and file basis rather silly.
--replay-gain Calculate ReplayGain values and store in Vorbis

Ahh, there was one more oops
I thought I'd tested all the mail server changes, but it turns out I'd
missed one more.... just in time to leave for a consulting gig (off
net) for the week. Oops.
The server was happily accepting mail, just not delivering (postfix's
chroot instructions are incomplete for a Debian setup). Hopefully the
backlog flushed itself out overnight.

Quiet Backtrace in RSpec
I''m using RSpec on Rails and would like to clean up the backtraces, so I
went looking for an RSpec equivalent to ThoughtBot''s Quiet Backtrace
gem<http://thoughtbot.com/projects/quietbacktrace>.
I found Spec::Runner::QuietBacktraceTweaker in the RDOCS, but I can''t figure
out how to use it. Can I add something to spec_helper.rb that will

wiki...?? When I go into the list of recipes, I don''t find a "Edit

Restful Authentication Uninitialized Constant in Production...
...me. Everywhere says Restful
Authentication is missing in the production server. However, to
validate this, I attempted this on the same server as the development,
which works.
So, what could cause the production environment to not see something
that is there, when the development environment can?
Ahh. While writing this, I decided to change:
RAILS_GEM_VERSION = ''2.2.2'' unless defined? RAILS_GEM_VERSION
to this
RAILS_GEM_VERSION = ''2.1.0'' unless defined? RAILS_GEM_VERSION
And, things work fine. Now to find out why. I don''t like having to
step down...

instantrails and oneclick
....4-20. faq also mentions combining both for single
rails/ruby installation but seems to refer to pre-v1 IR. So can anyone
tell me if I can install oneclick over IR without any probs and also if
I them have all the goodies I remember such as the Windows stuff and
gem? Much obliged for any help.
Ahh, nearly forgot, I have a mac mini sitting doing nothing (apart from
a lot of sleeping). I can''t bring myself to spend another ?90 on it to
upgrade to Tigger. So has anyone had any success running Ruby/Rails on
panther? I''d like to use it as a reliable Rails test server.

CTDB node stucks in " ctdb-eventd[13184]: 50.samba: samba not listening on TCP port 445"
Hi Martin,
> Does a useful ps command (e.g. ps auxww) show smbd running? What do
> the smbd logs say?
no,
root at ctdb-<HOST>:~# ps auxwww | grep smbd
root 13192 0.0 0.0 12780 940 pts/0 S+ 13:05 0:00 grep smbd
There is no smbd, nmbd is running.
Ahh, but the log says:
[2019/05/16 11:26:38.702593, 0]
../source3/smbd/server.c:1519(smbd_claim_version)
smbd_claim_version: smbd 4.9.4-SerNet-Debian-11.stretch already
running, refusing to start version 4.9.8-SerNet-Debian-13.stretch
I think I will reinstall the Sernet-Packages.

Ahh, so any instruction that can have an instruction intercept set
potentially needs to be able to tolerate a #VC? Those instruction
intercepts are under the control of the (untrusted relative to the
guest) hypervisor, right?

bug or feature?
R version 2.5.0, under gentoo linux. This may be just my ignorance
about naming conventions inside loops and subsets, but the following
appears like a bug to me.
y = c( 1963, 1963, 1964, 1964, 1965, 1965 );
r1= rnorm(6);
d= data.frame ( y=y, r1=r1 );
## note: I am not attach()ing anything anywhere
## this should give me two results, which it does
ahw.y= subset(d, d$y==1963);

Ahh I see now. I hacked this up and indeed the code looks much better.
I can't force it to use win64 calling conventions right?
Would do just fine for this case (much closer to a cold calling
convention, I really only need 5 preserved xmm regs).
