How to plot two variables in the same qqnorm-plot?
Dear all, I have two variables called c2 and c3 and want to plot these variables in the same qqnorm-plot with two different symbols or colors to distinguish them so I can easily compare the variables aginst each other. How can I do in R? I only manage to do two separated qqnorn-plots. Thanks for your help, All the best, Jenny c2= -0.1545775144 -0.0601161235 -0.1454710903 0.1893182564 -0.0470586789 -0.0740945381 -0.0041386301 0.0889232833 -0.0418779055 -0.0184595989 -0...

[LLVMdev] [RFC] C++11: 'virtual' and 'override'
After running the tool aginst LLD, I realized that clang-modernize do not add "override" to virtual destructors. I think it's not intended but just that that case is not covered by the tool. On Wed, Mar 5, 2014 at 2:54 PM, Craig Topper <craig.topper at gmail.com> wrote: > Didn't realize that. I'...

security=domain problems
Hi all, We are having some problems getting a solaris 9(sparc) file server running samba 2.2.2 to authenticate aginst a windows NT 4 PDC. Let me say first that this was all working at one time, then we had some data corrumption on our NFS mounted /usr/local, and had to restore from tape. Due to some issues with solaris ufsdump and ufsrestore, stuff was not quite put back properly. We do have the original w...

Comparing and Interpreting GAMMs
...have to set up a model in which I could directly compare specific factors with each other? I've also tried to omit the smooth term s(hours24): gamm.12<-gamm4(dv ~ pred +s(hours24,by=pred), random = ~ (1|vpnr),data=sdata,family=binomial) However this would obviously test each of the smooths aginst a horizontal line which is not what I want. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks! Andrea Output of 1st model gamm.11: ---------------------------------------- logLik(gamm.11$mer);deviance(gamm.11$mer);attributes(summary(gamm.11$mer))$AICtab[1];gamm.11$mer@deviance["disc"] 'log...

FFT
Hi, Is FFT implemented in R takes advantage of multi-processors? I ran this benchmark from from http://www.sciviews.org, and AMD Opteron 2.2 GHz performs better than AMD Opteron 1.8 GHz on all test cases, except FFT operation. Both machines run same OSs (RedHat WS 3) and 2.2 GHz has more memory (2 GB RAM) than 1.8 GHz (1 GB RAM). The only difference is that 1.8 GHz is a dual-processor

Update today broke foreign package (PR#13533)
Hi, I'm running R 2.8.1 on Ubuntu, and today I got updates for a couple of packages, including foreign (r-cran-foreign, now at version 0.8.32). Subsequent to the upgrade, attempts to invoke read.spss produce the following error: Error in inherits(x, "factor") : object "cp" not found and the call to read.spss fails. I forced a downgrade to 0.8.26, and read.spss

Current Debian unstable has a broken libm?
I made the mistake of upgrading my primary development machine last night... The libc/libm in the current debian appear to be somewhat broken. Compiling with -O2 and linking aginst libc/m 2.1.2 yields a broken executable; it appears that calls to libm (specifically log() and fabs()) with a perfectly valid input argument result in a garbage return. I don't know for certain what part of the chain is broken. A different gcc version (that previously worked before installi...

puppet + mongrel + host_cert/key owner
Hi all, following http://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/UsingMongrel it says that hostkey/cert must be owned by puppet:puppet. I tried to keep original path (and also owner) of both files and seems to puppet still works... what problems could it cause to my conf? # grep lib mongrel.conf SSLCertificateFile /var/lib/puppet/ssl/certs/gridinstall.pic.es.pem SSLCertificateKeyFile

OT: Is randomization for targeted cancer therapies ethical?
Hi Folks: **Off Topic** Those interested in clinical trials may find the following of interest: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/19/health/research/19trial.html It concerns the ethicality of randomizing those with life-threatening disease to relatively ineffective SOC when new "biologically targeted" therapies "appear" to be more effective. While the context may be new, the

Upgraded to 2.9p1 with no luck..
Howdy, After upgrading to 2.9 (OpenSSH_2.9p1, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0x0090600f) I'm unable to ssh between two systems any more (the two that I've upgraded). I've recompiled from the original source several times, each time with no errors, regenerated host keys, regenerated client keys (using rsa), etc., to no avail. Below are some relevant snippets of debugging output

puppetmaster built via puppetd

"Flavors of Security Through Obscurity"
This was posted not too long ago on sci.crypt... Enjoy... I think the most relevant information is near the top, but it''s all quite good... :-) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- There is no intrinsic difference between algorithm and data, the same information can be viewed as data in one context and as algorithm in another. Why then do so many people claim that encryption algorithms
