Fedora Core 4 system lockup with wine 200506.. - 0.9.1
...ietary ati drivers and even running the non SMP kernel(I have a P4
hyperthreading CPU) but I still get the same lockups.
The old 20050524 version of wine works without locking up my system.
The .wine config directory does seem to be created:

wininet not sending Content-Length: in header (http 411 error)
Using an app that uses msinet.ocx. msinet is a dumbed down MS wrapper
for wininet and VB use. Running the app native on windows works but
when running it through wine 0.9.15 the server replies back with a 411
response. I tried http and https with the same result(decrypted the SSL
to make sure).

msvcp80.dll and msvcr80.dll not working with wine?
Trying to run Visual Source Safe 2005 with wine 0.9.8 and it appears
that wine can not load the visual c 8.0 runtime dlls.
Is it because they are somehow tied to .net? I cant even run regsvr32
on them.
Running the ss.exe program causes a popup:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program C:\programs\vss\ss.exe

An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime

Problem running a VB6 app
I noticed someone else had a similar error/popup a few months ago.
I think the important error is:
err:ole:typedescvt_to_variantvt cannot convert type 24 into variant VT
A popup box appears:
Title: Flex List Box Control
Run-time error '458':
Variable usese an Automation type not supported in Visual Basic.
The app uses vb6 and all dlls not included with wine appear to be

Fix for Fw: [unixODBC-support] FedoraCore4 and unixODBC __post_internal_error undefined symbol at runtime
Just in case anyone with FC4 and maybe other distros were trying to use
unixODBC-2.2.11 and wine's built in odbc32. If your app errors out when
you issue a query with an undefined symbol of __post_internal_error you
will need to use an early snapshot of the 2.2.12 unixODBC that resolves
this issue...

Why not use yum mirrorlist= instead of baseurl= in CentOS-Base.repo
Currently the default yum configuration references mirror.centos.org.
When yum looks up the IP address it finds several but it will only try
one and fail if that server is down or does not have the headers for
whatever reason.
If yum were to reference a mirrorlist it would skip servers that fail
and keep trying them all until it finds one that works or exhausts all
the mirrors. Centos would
