Samba, the GPL and SCO
...'s like buying a car, then claiming the sale agreement
is bogus but you still want to keep the car. You can't have it both ways.
----
Quick clipping from the case:
According to SCO, the GPL (and thus also the LGPL) "is unenforceable,
void and/or voidable" (Ex. 2 at 20 (Sixth Affirmative Defense));
"violates the U.S. Constitution, together with copyright, antitrust and
export control laws" (Ex. 25 (Amend. Ans. to Amend. Countercls.) at 16
(Eighth Affirmative Defense); Ex. 23 at 213:15-20); is unenforceable or
inapplicable in this litigation (Ex. 2 ?? 24, 28, 155, 157)...

Erlang DTrace Provider
...chitects, developers, and administrators
of those many-core systems as Erlang is used to implement
systems which contain heterogeneous technologies to deliver
end-to-end ''Web 3.0'' systems.
The OpenSolaris Constitution requires three affirmative votes and no
negative votes from Core Contributors, which in the case of DTrace are
Mike, Adam, Brendan, Jon and me (though others are certainly welcome to
weigh in as well). This mail should be taken as my vote in the affirmative,
so between the other four we need two affirmatives (and no negati...

R() in controllers
Hello all,
I have an app mounted under /test via lighttpd fastcgi as indicated on
[1]. Here I use R(Foo, bar) in views to link to controller foo, this correctly
creates a /test/foo/bar link. However, when I use R() in some controller,
for example:
headers[''Refresh''] = "60; url=#{R(Foo, bar)}"
The generated link is /foo/bar, which obviously links to something

I just add into my AD a user with different values for attributes "CN" and

OCFS and LVM2
Hi Everyboy !
I read that LVM2 is not cluster aware (specially with OCFS2) from different
post on internet forum... If it's true, could someone could confirm this
information and point me where i can find this affirmation in documentation
?
I do some test with OCFS2 on LVM2 and it's seems to run correctly , so i
have some interrogation about this fact !
If it's true that LVM2 are

reloading a new kernel
Hi - is it possible to load a SMP version of a kernel on a system running
a single CPU version of the kernel without a reboot?
For instance, a quad CPU system was accidentally booted as
2.6.9-78.0.5.EL
but we need to load
2.6.9-78.0.5.ELsmp
instead.
Any help would be appreciated.

[LLVMdev] Aliasing bug or feature?
Hello everyone,
I am working on some changes to the Hexagon VLIW PreRA scheduler, and as a
part of it need to test aliasing properties of two instruction.
What it boils down to is the following code:
char a[20];
char s;
char *p, *q; // p == &a[0]; q == &s;
void test()
{
register char reg;
s = 0;
reg = p[0] + p[1];
s = q[0] + reg;
return;
}

java with internet explorer under wine
Hi,
my bank requires a java certifiate that won't run under linux (I know that
most of the java applets are platform independent, but this one is not).
I've managed to get java running under Firefox with wine, but it turns out
that their java won't run properly under Firefox neither. (This was affirmed
by a windows user friend as well.) So my only remaining option is IE with
wine.

How to run a .reg file?
Hi,
I need to run a .reg file.
In windows, I think I'd just double click on it. If I try to run it in wine, it says it's not a valid executable. How do I run it?
