Samba, the GPL and SCO
For those of you following the IBM vs SCO legal case, you have probably
noticed that SCO has said that the GPL is invalid. IBM appears to make
the reasonable case that you can't say something is void, and then rely
on it. INAL, but why is SCO allowed to distribute Samba without agreeing
to the GPL? That's like buying a car, then claiming the sale agreement
is bogus but you still want

Erlang DTrace Provider
DTrace folks,
I''m pleased to introduce a potential new DTrace-sponsored project: the
Erlang DTrace provider. To be good OpenSolaris citizens, we want to put
the formation of this officially sponsored project to a vote -- as outlined
in the OpenSolaris Constitution -- so here are the details for the new
Project, as prepared by the Project Team:
Name : Erlang DTrace Integration

R() in controllers
Hello all,
I have an app mounted under /test via lighttpd fastcgi as indicated on
[1]. Here I use R(Foo, bar) in views to link to controller foo, this correctly
creates a /test/foo/bar link. However, when I use R() in some controller,
for example:
headers[''Refresh''] = "60; url=#{R(Foo, bar)}"
The generated link is /foo/bar, which obviously links to something

[samba4ad] Duplicate attributes list ?
...Mathias Dufresne (CN)*
# Referral
....
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So "name" seems to be a duplication of "CN". It seems not possible to have
different values for for these both attributes name and CN.
Q1: Is that last affirmation true?
Q2: Is there others attributes like those ones? Is there a list somewhere?
Best regards,
mathias

OCFS and LVM2
Hi Everyboy !
I read that LVM2 is not cluster aware (specially with OCFS2) from different
post on internet forum... If it's true, could someone could confirm this
information and point me where i can find this affirmation in documentation
?
I do some test with OCFS2 on LVM2 and it's seems to run correctly , so i
have some interrogation about this fact !
If it's true that LVM2 are not cluster aware, does anybody know how could i
run ocfs on technology who are offer similair fonctionnality of LVM2?
Thank...

[LLVMdev] Aliasing bug or feature?
...the following code:
char a[20];
char s;
char *p, *q; // p == &a[0]; q == &s;
void test()
{
register char reg;
s = 0;
reg = p[0] + p[1];
s = q[0] + reg;
return;
}
When I ask the question whether "&s" and "&q[0]" may potentially alias, I
got negative affirmation.
In the full test (not presented) they indeed may and do in fact alias,
resulting in incorrect VLIW schedule.
My question - is it a feature or a bug :)
Here is somewhat more info:
Before lowering begins:

java with internet explorer under wine
Hi,
my bank requires a java certifiate that won't run under linux (I know that
most of the java applets are platform independent, but this one is not).
I've managed to get java running under Firefox with wine, but it turns out
that their java won't run properly under Firefox neither. (This was affirmed
by a windows user friend as well.) So my only remaining option is IE with
wine.

I think you may be mistaken (or I did not fully understood your affirmation).
These "no such user" users were deleted from Linux with "userdel -r" and are
ghosts in Samba.
I just tried to remove them (smbpasswd -x) them but got "Failed to delete entry
for user XXXX"
How do I get rid of these ghosts?

How to run a .reg file?
Hi,
I need to run a .reg file.
In windows, I think I'd just double click on it. If I try to run it in wine, it says it's not a valid executable. How do I run it?
