Memtest86+ running time
I have run one full test and got no errors on the memory module. Is it worth keeping it running overnight, just to see if temperature changes will afect the test? Regards, Keith -- In theory, theory and practice are the same; in practice they are not. This email was sent from my laptop with Centos 5.5

Muchas gracias, Miriam

Speex bitrate
I'm using speex to encode wav files. How does the --bitrate n option (use bit-rate n or lower) afects the quality and time of the encoding? If I don't use that option how speex determines the bitrate to use in encoding? Issue with pam_winbind for MS AD authentication and moduleoptions
...I log them out and try again a few minutes later it won't go again, then again after a few minutes it works again and it keeps going like that. My guess is that when it's not going pam_winbind and winbind are trying to connect to the AD Server resulting in a huge delay in the login process afecting also local users login. That's why I was wondering if there is a "timeout" option or something for pam_winbind to avoid that. Well, that's my guess I could be wrong and maybe the problem is something else. Anyway thank's so far for your help, if you or anyone has a light......

CentOS-4.1 Beta for Alpha arch
Hi, As usually, i haven't heard of anything about it. I can see that someone has downloaded it, but nothing more. I am now poking you once again to _say_ something about it. My vacation is coming near and the summer isn't afecting to temperature of my machine room so much anymore, so i intend to nail this to official release at time of CentOS-4.2 update release cycle. But i can't fix things i don't even know being broken. I do have things like compat-glibc now, but if there isn't going to be any feedback, i'...

getting the timezone name from an abbreviation
HI, I am creating n onlinecalendar sort of functionality for which the user input for events is taken. To make it user friendly, its left to the user to write the time down rather than selecting it from a datetime field in a form . The user can also specify a timezone. And while doing so its obvious that most inputs will be an abbreviation. My question is - is there a way to convert
