Stata support in package foreign
...at 115, so foreign::read.dta should be able to read Stata 13 files. It would be helpful to know if that is the case. Second, Stata document reading R's POSIXct date-times into Stata at http://www.stata.com/manuals13/ddatetime.pdf page 10 using format %tC. The description there of 'UTC-adusted seconds' is ambiguous, but what is said on page 2 suggests %tc is correct. Could someone please try reading a recent R date-time into Stata (one since July 2012, the last leap second) and see which format reads it correctly. Finally, PR#15517 is about undocumented details of a change in...

Getting the same values of adjusted mean and standard errors as SAS
Hello, I am trying to get the same values for the adjusted means and standard errors using R that are given in SAS for the following data. The model is Measurement ~ Age + Gender + Group. I can get the adusted means at the mean age by using predict. I do not know how to get the appropriate standard errors at the adjusted means for Gender using values from predict. So I attempted to get them directly from the residuals as follows. The data is at the end of the email. While there is a match for the m...

Upper case values for method "BH" or "YH" are also accepted. 4. p.adust() now preserves attributes like names for named vectors (as does cumsum and friends for example). 5. p.adjust() now works columnwise on numeric data.frames (as does cumsum and friends). 6. method="hommel" now works correctly even for n=2 7. The 'n' argument is removed. Settin...

win98 vs win95 with TCP/IP
...can't use Linux+Samba as an alternative to a Win9x or NT server for our GP medical practice. The software we need runs in win9x. We crave stability. But Linux+Samba is just much slower as a file server. It's normally quite fast: are you running over a dial-up network, requiring you to adust MTU's for speed??? If not, try ``socket options = TCP_NODELAY'', which adapts server TCPs to a MS feature (:-)) and produces considerable speed increases... --dave -- David Collier-Brown, | Always do right. ISDN call-progress IE in SETUP frames
...d make us more transparent. Matt, Mark, Kevin: there do seem to be some issues with the callprogress IE handling in libpri - for instance, libpri remembers them using a bit-map, but the transmit_call_progress will just send ONE of those remembered. Does anyone want to help me understand as I make adustments... Regards, Steve Davies
