Problems with nls
...hree parameters, when m is also included R seems to be seeing four). My experience with nls is limited, can someone explain to me why it's doing this? I've included the data set I'm working with (published in Michalakelis et al. 2008) and some example code. ## Assign relevant variables adoption <- c(167000,273000,531000,938000,2056452,3894103,5932090,7963742,9314687,10469060,11393302,11976340) time <- seq(from = 1,to = 12, by = 1) ## Models Bass.Model <- adoption ~ ((p + q)^2/p) * (exp(-(p + q) * time)/((q / p) * exp(-(p + q) * time) + 1)^2) ## Starting Parameters Bass.Params...

Your RoR 1.1 Adoption Prediction?
What is the likelyhood that major inexpensive webhosts like godaddy, bluehost, etc. will upgrade to RoR 1.1? Is this going to be like PHP 5 where it has to percolate for a year or more before it becomes widly available? Your thoughts? Along the same lines... is it possible to adopt some of the new improved Ajax / javascript capabilities without actually upgrading the ruby installation? Thanks in advance. -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

On Linux, gstreamer, xine and other frameworks will handle Speex fine. On Symbian mo...

Struggling to compute marginal effects !
In that case, I can't work out why the first model fails but not the second. I would start looking at "Data" to see what it contains. if: object2 <- polr(Inc ~ Training ,Data,Hess = T,method = "logistic" ) works, the problem may be with the "Adopt" variable. rails adoption questions
For my thesis I''m constructing a questionnaire and I would like to know your opinion about it and perhaps additional questions. The research will focus on the adoption factors and demographic characteristics of companies using rails. So if you happen to know good questions, or think they''re inappropriate, let me know. I''ll start off: Organizational 1. What is your company name? 2. What city is your company located in? 3. What is the countr...

We've not done any analysis to see what timeframe that code could be be updated on -- our focus has been on *adopting* libc++ (and easing that path), not removing the uses of weird things that it also supports. I'll point out that I'd rather focus our energy on adopting libc++ than even doing this analysis. ;] > > I somewhat agree with Joerg that it would be good to understand the motivation. Muc...

How to get podcasters to adopt Speex?
I would love to see podcasters adopt the Speex format to deliver clear speech audio at wideband or ultra-wideband formats. However, podcasters want something that can easily play on Windows, Macs, and even Linux web browsers. The Speex website has some nice audio demos, but it doesn't actually offer any HTML embedded samples usi...

Will rsync adopt Kerberos integration?
Hi, Will rsync adopt Kerberos/GSSAPI integration? It would be really good if we could establish password-less connections that adhere to user permissions. I am aware there is a patched version of rsync for this purpose, but it seems to run a few versions behind the main releases. Are there any plans to incorpora...

"Using Samba" adopted as official Samba book
...st improved by a huge leap. O'Reilly have released "Using Samba" under an open content license. They have sent me the full sources for the book and I will be working to get it formatted to be useful as a good online resource as soon as I can. Within the Samba Team we have decided to adopt the book as the "official" book for Samba. We plan to keep it up to date and maintain it in CVS. Already Jeremy and I have spent quite a lot of time proof-reading and correcting the first edition (which should be in bookstores soon) and I expect that will continue in the future, with help...
