CentOS 5.x and HP ACU CLI
I had to install C5 on a dev server for various reasons (legacy system
support and so forth). This dev server is a HP DL180 G6, with a
SmartArray P410 raid card... I've installed hpacucli via the RPM from
HP's site, but its not finding the controller... C5 (64 bit) is using
the default CCISS drivers for this card.
# hpacucli ctrl all show config

Mixing SATA & PATA Drives
I suspect it''s probably not a good idea but I was wondering if someone
could clarify the details.
I have 4 250G SATA(150) disks and 1 250G PATA(133) disk. Would it
cause problems if I created a raidz1 pool across all 5 drives?
I know the PATA drive is slower so would it slow the access across the
whole pool or just when accessing that disk?
Thanks for your input.

Working Fine - Suddenly Not
Hello All,
AIX 4.3.3 / Samba 2.0.6
Have had no problems in months accessing shares / using SAMBA. This morning users
called to say that they cannot connect. Stopped and restarted the NMBD and SMBD
services. smbstatus shows no issues. Log files show users attempting to connect but
no errors as to why they get the message "\\<server_name> is not accessible The session

Samba device that integrates Pc and Apple Networks
I remember a while back seeing someone mention a device that would integrate
an apple with a pcnetwork.
basically it was a small box that had a samba server built in. you would
connect your mac to it with the
other side connecting to the hub of a pcnetwork. It would intern allow
Apple shares to be viewed in network
neighborhood, and macs to mount pc shares./ does this ring a bell with
anyone.

Is there a way to expand a formated ocfs2 partition without loosi ng the data on it?
...ot be the right forum for the following
question, but I d like to try it here anyway:
This is the case:
I had a 3x72GB HDD RAID5 shared external disk drives (HP MSA500),
totalizing about 145,6 GB of data.
I needed to increase the available amount of data, so I added a 4th 72GB HDD
and using HP ACU I expanded my existing RAID5 Array, I have now about 218,5
GB available.
But this is of course not reflected in my partition table. I had created 2
partitions on my drives, both formatted with ocfs2. I also run HP Mutlipath.

These can also be removed by changing qbeta.c:156-157 (R-1.7.1)
to
y = (y-a) * xinbta * (1.0-xinbta) *
exp (logbeta - pp * log(xinbta) - qq * log1p(-xinbta));
I don't understand why you have qbeta.c:167
if (fabs(y)<=acu) goto L_converged
which will fail for certain values of p & q, when x is close to zero as
the beta density tends to infinity. Why not use an exit condition based on
how far away from 'a' you are?
qbeta.c:174 (prevent excess precision)
Might this not just get optimized out? I doubt mode...

only yield an error on the NT4 workstation about the network name not found
and could not browse to it via network neighborhood. When I use MedTran
everything was happy. I appear to have hit a limit in the length of the
name. What is the

Any pointers would be very welcome.
I have Googled and am working with Vince on the Open Cobol mailing list

Processing calendar dates with R
I am a beginner in R with a background in SAS.
Are there built-in R methods of reading dates for calculating elapsed days
between two calendar dates? If so, are there any examples I can browse?
Thanks in anticipation.
