Hi guys, we are running a fileserver for a company with ~10 Mac OS Mavericks (not all up to date). The Samba server is running on Centos 5 with official Samba from Centos. We see big big lagging while browsing the fileserver. Some directories du to the activy of the company contains more than 4000 files (small one). The only thing I find in the logs that seems odd is: 2005/10/27 09:28:06, 0] rpc_server/srv_pipe.c:api_pipe_bind_req(1006) api_pipe_bind_req: unknown auth type 9 requested. but it appers when they get access and not when they are denied. Samba is trying to authenticate against a Microsoft Activie Directory 2003 sp1 with all patches installd (this monday). Samba was updated yesterday as stated above. I have installed Half-Life and updated it with the latest patch (1.1.0.4). It runs fine. Hey guys, I'm trying to use samba 3.0 within an ADS-environment, but run into big problems. Each time I start winbind, it tries to connect to EACH DC within the ADS-structure (which contains at least 25 DCs worldwide) and this takes a VERY long time. It also occurs that one of these is currently not available (VPN-breakdown/policy settings) and at this point the whole system is running in big
