Samba 3.0.21a && AFS
Sorry for the cross post, but I can't find the original mail
I don't know if it was sent to the OpenAFS or the Samba
list...
I've managed to fix some compilation/build problems when
using '--with-afs' to Samba. Something about undefined

(I have made so that gentoo doesnt bring up eth0 at boot, I was told xend
would do this). Xen does find the networkcards drivers so thats not the
issue. Anyone with a aclue of what this might be?
Thanks in advance

AD and home directory on Linux
I'm trying to get my home directory (automaticly) mounted from the
AD server via SMB - I can't (don't want to) use NFS, because that
fucks up the file modes (even with SFU it's not compatible enough).
Using LibNSS/LDAP and LibPAM/{LDAP,Krb5} will authenticate me,
get me a ticket and overall work exactly as planed.
However, my home directory isn't availible (I had to create

Allegations regarding OpenBSD IPSEC
Some of you probably already read this:
http://marc.info/?l=openbsd-tech&m=129236621626462&w=2
Interesting...I wonder what is the impact of all this on FreeBSD code.
We may very well suppose that any government or corporation funded code
can theoretically have some kind of backdoor inside.

Restart when convenient
I've moved 1 of our facilities over from 1.2 to 1.4 two weeks back. So
far, the only issue that I've encounted is.
I have a scheduled CRON job that runs at 3am every Sunday, that issues a:
asterisk -rx 'restart when convenient'
The first Sunday that it ran, Asterisk never restarted. The CRON logs
show that it issued the command successfully. This Sunday, it ran but

Queue() problems
I've been trying to setup AddQueueMember() as a replacement
for the deprecated AgentCallbackLogin(), but I get _tree_

Sync password (with MIT-kerberos server) and migration
Hello, my first post here :-),
For several years, I are using samba 2.0 with local backend for windows
stations and servers.
NIS was our used for Linux stations and servers
Now, LDAP /KERBEROS is replacing NIS and Samba (with ldap backend) will
replace the local backend .
My questions :
1- How can I migrate information form server1 (samba 2) to server2 (samba 3)
? I read the official Samba

Problems using Samba 3.0.0 as ADS member server
I have a linux box configured with samba 3.0.0 joined to my Win2k ADS
domain. I can succesfully use kinit and smbclient -k without entering a
user/pass to connect to things on my network.
From ANY client host (WinXP, Win2k, etc), I can't connect to my linux
box. The error I get is ALWAYS (this is after the client i'm on asks
for a username/password and i enter it):

Solaris + PAM/LDAP + pubkey failing?
I've got a Solaris 8 and 9 box using LDAP to successfully authenticate users.
I can get logged in via ssh using keyboard interactive (via PAM/LDAP). When
I try to use pubkey authentication, both the pubkey as well as the fallback to
keyboard interactive always fail. I've tried openssh versions as early as 3.4
and as new as the 11-06 snapshot with the same behavior. Everything works
