external and internal LANs
hi all
what does it mean if the total network speed on internal LAN is greater
than the external LAN
and why it happens?
the extrnal LAN here is the Intenet using a dedicated bandwidth. and
BTW the linux box NATting
has no shapping at all. just direct piping

I've compiled and installed Samba version 2.0.0-prealpha (15) on an
IRIX 6.2 box without problem. I created an account using 'smbpasswd -a -m'
and see it in the private/smbpasswd file. I can see the server
'ackowledging' the NT 4.0 workstation client to some extent in the log
files but still see
"The machine account for this computer either does not exist or is not
accessable."
Is there anything else I could reference? Suggestions? What should the
entry in the private/smbpasswd file look like if co...

USB support in wine for TDK CD/DVD Print Labeller
Hi
Does anybody know whether wine works with USB ports or not ?
The reason I ask is that I'm trying to get the application TDK CD/DVD
Printer Labeller Software running, the software appears to work except
for the fact it complains that "The printer is turned off or not
connected to the computer".

Error message in polr
Dear members of the list,
I'm fitting ordinal regressions using polr, and in some models I
get the error copied below. Dependent variable is an ordered factor
of bird abundance categories, and predictors are continuous habitat
variables.
