[PATCH] also look for host-prefixed ar
This patch changes configure.ac to look for '${host}-ar' as set by AC_CANONICAL_HOST before looking for the unprefixed 'ar'. This is useful when cross-compiling when all your binutils are prefixed. I used AC_CHECK_TOOLS instead of AC_CHECK_TOOL, since autoconf docs say that the former calls AC_SUBST. Applies to OpenSSH portable 6.3p1 --- configure.ac | 2 +- 1 file changed, 1 insertion(+), 1 deletion(-) diff --git a/configure.ac b/configure.ac index 4a1b503..460addd 100644 --- a/configure.ac +++ b/configure.a...

building NUT on Mac OS X Yosemite
Hello, Here is a summary of discussions around NUT builds on Mac OS X 10.10. Starting from https://github.com/networkupstools/nut-website/issues/7 <https://github.com/networkupstools/nut-website/issues/7> @JeanPerriault I've found msort on macports (https://trac.macports.org/browser/trunk/dports/textproc/msort/Portfile, http://billposer.org/Software/Downloads/ msort.pdf), but I'm

[PATCH 01/27] build: Make OCaml compiler required for all builds.
Previously the OCaml compiler was only required if building from git but was at least theoretically optional if building from tarballs (although this was never tested). Since we want to write parts of the daemon in OCaml, this makes OCaml required for all builds. Note that the ‘--disable-ocaml’ option remains, but it now only disables OCaml bindings and OCaml virt tools. Using this option does

Detecting KLIBC from userspace
Hi Currently I am trying to get device-mapper and dmraid ported to compile against klibc. So far there was no real issues, as the only thing they used was fscanf and feof not available presently in klibc (but easy to work around). Other than that there are really no way to easily check for installed klibc's other than trying to mangle the output of klcc (from adjusted configure.in): -----

building NUT on Mac OS X Yosemite (website/documentation)
Sorry I ran ?make' command in nut-website/nut... (I still can?t understand why creating man page is so long, it is much more faster on ubuntu.) When running ?make? in nut-website, same issue then described previously, even with Arno patch > sort: stray character in field spec: invalid field specification `4.1,4.5rV > > >>>>>> and it ends with: > >

[PATCH] configure: Move language binding detection to separate files.
This commit starts to split our massive, monolithic configure.ac file into smaller files, using the m4_include mechanism to combine them. I don't know if we should really do this, so I'm open to comments about it. However: - Our configure.ac script is 1800+ lines long, and that's pretty long. - configure.ac lacks structure; splitting it up might improve that. - From what I read,

[PATCH nbdkit incomplete 0/5] Port to Windows.
This is an incomplete port to Windows. Currently the server compiles and starts up successfully, but goes into an infinite loop when you connect to it. Nevertheless I think the approach is ready for feedback. This being Windows the changes go quite deep. Rich.

[PATCH nbdkit 0/9] Port to Windows.
Also available here: https://github.com/rwmjones/nbdkit/tree/2020-windows-mingw This is the port to Windows using native Windows APIs (not MSYS or Cygwin). This patch series is at the point where it basically now works. I can run the server with the memory plugin, and access it remotely using guestfish, creating filesystems and so on without any apparent problems. Nevertheless there are many

[PATCH nbdkit 0/13] Port to Windows without using a separate library.
Also available here: https://github.com/rwmjones/nbdkit/tree/2020-windows-mingw-nolib After a lot of work I have made the port to Windows work without using a separate library. Instead, on Windows only, we build an "import library" (library of stubs) which resolves references to nbdkit_* functions in the main program and fixes up the plugin, basically the first technique outlined in

[PATCH 1/2] Convert all TABs-as-indentation to spaces.
Per discussion on IRC, here are two changes to convert all TABs-as-indentation to spaces. The first one is the fully-automated conversion. However, note that the command mentioned uses a file (the .x-sc* one) that is added only in the following patch. The second patch adds rules to help keep things that way: Document and enforce the new spaces-only indentation policy. * cfg.mk

[PATCH 00/16] Refactoring of configure.ac and guestfs.pod
Two (not related to each other) refactorings: Patches 1-12 split configure.ac into smaller files using the m4_include mechanism. Patches 13-15 split out parts of guestfs.pod (ie. guestfs(3)) into three new manual pages: guestfs-hacking(3) - how to extend and contribute to libguestfs guestfs-internals(3) - architecture and internals guestfs-security(3) - security and CVEs Patch 16 is a

[PATCH 00/27] Reimplement many daemon APIs in OCaml.
Previously posted as part of the mega utilities/inspection series here: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2017-June/msg00232.html What I've done is to extract just the parts related to rewriting daemon APIs in OCaml, rebase them on top of the current master, fix a few things, and recompile and test everything. Rich.
