Virus scan - false positive for 32-bit syslinux.efi in syslinux 6.04-pre?
Not sure if this has been addressed previously; I couldn't find anything in the mailing list archives, at least since December 2016. In a routine virus scan of a project that includes syslinux, McAfee Virus Scan reported what I strongly suspect to be a false positive in 32-bit syslinux.efi in the syslinux-6.04-pre1.tar.gz distribution. A follow-up search with VirusTotal shows that the same

X-Windows on a virtual machine
Hey everyone. I''ve been doing some googling to find information regarding the use of VGA. I''m having some trouble gaining a complete understanding of the matter, but it appears as if it is only possible to use VGA on an unmodified operating system. Is this correct, or would it be possible for me to install and use X-Windows on a domU installation with a modified kernel?

Signal Theory && Ogg file format
I'm a french programmer and i'm very interested in the ogg/vorbis project. But before all, i need a good signal theory tutorial about audio/video. Who has a good set of URLs ? I'm currently analysing the ogg file format, and i could add a 'text streaming' capabilities (a new codec!) and 'jpeg streaming' (one more new codec!, just to create multimedia slide shows).

Possible VFS KPI and KBI breakage on stable/7
There are three sets of changes that would benefit stable/7. Namely, there are 1. Improvements for the UFS unmount or rw->ro remount, that perform suspension during the operation. The changes depend on the the suspension mechanism path, that introduced the suspension owner, and added new VFS OP into the mount method table. This might also fix the hangs with gjournal or

R-1.6.2 on Jan.10
In case you haven't already noticed, daily beta versions of R 1.6.2 are being made available via http://cran.us.r-project.org/src/base/ (also on the rest of CRAN, but the mirroring delays may make that less useful) The plan is to have the final release on January 10, so we are now entering the deep-freeze stage where only critical bugs will get fixed. As usual, it would be a good thing to

[PATCH v2] arm: change vendor ID for virtio-mmio
ACPI spec 5.0 allows the use of PCI vendor IDs. Since we have one for virtio, it seems neater to use that rather than LNRO. For the device ID, use 103F which is a legacy ID that isn't used in virtio PCI spec - seems to make sense since virtio-mmio is a legacy device but we don't know the correct device type. Guests should probably match everything in the range 1000-103F (just like legacy

helper methods starting with should
Hi all, As an experiment in playing nice with others, we''ve added the ability in rspec''s trunk to do this: class ThingExamples < Spec::ExampleGroup def should_do_stuff ... end end This is how rspec 0.1 worked, and for people already comfortable with the classes/methods approach of Test::Unit, it is a more comfortable entry point to rspec. For others, however, it

bug in postgresql ''now'' time handling??
line 212 of postgresql_adapter.rb is return Time.now.to_s if value =~ /^\(''now''::text\)::(date|timestamp)/ i don''t think this will work. in postgresql the field ''now'' is pinned to the SAME TIME for the duration of a transaction. eg. if you do begin transaction; insert into t values(42, ''now''); # sleep one minute

[LLVMdev] Error handling in LLVMObject library
Hi everyone, Having proper error handling in LLVM's Object parsing library is a nice thing by itself, but it would additionally allow us to find bugs by fuzzing (see r238451 that adds llvm-dwarfdump-fuzzer tool), for which the clean input validation is essential. This is a generic discussion of state of affairs. I want to do some progress in fuzzing before we finish it (especially if we
