The latest version of Open Office in the db is 3.0.1 and it says to install cabextract before running the installer. The version I am downloading to install is 3.1.0, does anyone know if I still need to install cabextract first for that version?

I had heard about WINE, and rather than buy another Microsoft product, I decided to see if I could run Ami Pro under another OS. My new printer works perfectly under Linux, so that's not a problem. ...Unfortunately I have to run with WINEDLLOVERRIDES=ole32,oleaut32,rpcrt4=n to get the app to run at all, so I can't look at WINEDEBUG=ole32 . Can anyone give a suggestion how to proceed? I have tried installing a variety of word processors inside of Wine including OpenOffice 1.1 and 2.0, and Abiword, in hopes that a different word processor would be able to successfully communicate with my VB app. But that does not help, the same error still occurs. Hello, I have wine version 20031016 and I was so pleased that wine + diablo 2 LOD 1.10 + Battle.net actually worked !!
