Xen breaks aacraid
Hello, I''m using Xen 4.0.0 compiled from source with the 2.6.31.13 kernel that it pulls down on its own. I added support for the aacraid driver to the kernel using ''make menuconfig'' from the build-linux-2.6-pvops_x86_64 subdirectory, and then built and installed the whole thing using ''make install'' from the xen-4.0.0 directory. I compiled this support natively, so I am not using an initrd. I'...

aacraid monitoring tool?
I've got myself an Adaptec 2200 HW RAID card to play for couple of days. Tha card uses aacraid device driver. Seems to work nicely, however just wandering if there's a tool (prefferably CLI) for CentOS that can read out RAID configuration data, status of individual drives, maybe even manage (create/delete) RAID devices? Thanks for any and all pointers. --------------------------------...

AACRAID controller setup?
This isn't exactly a Centos question but maybe someone here can help: Does the AACRAID controller (as in an IBM 3550) store its config info on the drives or internally? I only have one of the boxes and want to load Centos 3.x on several drives which can be swapped into servers at another location. With SCSI, all that took was a full disk dd copy and a little fiddling with the HWADD...

Issues with aacraid
Hi there, I'm currently trying to install a server with Centos 4.3 x86_64. I have issues installing drivers from a Driver disk, I got a driver(2810SA) from the Adaptec site, I started it up with "linux dd" It reads the disk fine .... I can see the aacraid module in the list but as soon as I choose it. Then I get a screen saying "Do you wish to load more Driver Disks?" I can see in the logging that it can't find the driver it also gives a "Can't find a valid FAT filesystem on dev fd0". I have dd'ed the image ... it is...

aacraid strangeness
I've just had an strange thing with Adapted 2200 RAID controller (with optional battery module installed). Basically, new card, worked perfectly for weeks, several reboots and stuff. Then all the sudden, when I rebooted machine this today, system would simply freeze during boot. BIOS showed the card initialized properly, kernel module was loaded (from initrd) and it found all of the arrays,

aacraid hard/firmware differences?
This isn't really a Centos question but it affects the systems so I'll ask here anyway. I've noticed when swapping disks around on IBM 3550 boxes that some of them see one more cylinder on drives than others but I can't find any settings or differences that might control this. It's an obvious problem when you fdisk/format on the one that sees the additional cylinder,

Xen 3.3 unstable on OpenSUSE 10.3 - initrd problem
...18-xen.hg make dist sh ./install.sh I tried running the following to create the initrd but it failed: Depending on your config, you may need to use ''mkinitrd'' to create an initial ram disk, just like a native system e.g. # depmod 2.6.18.8-xen # mkinitrd -v -f --with=aacraid --with=sd_mod --with=scsi_mod initrd-2.6.18.8-xen.img 2.6.18.8-xen It states that it does not understand the "--". I''ve tried reading mkinitrd -h, but I cannot seem to figure out the proper syntax for the mkinitrd command. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Bill Morris...

Clocksource boot issues 4.9.13
Hi all I?ve got a few Intel Z87 chipset machines with Adaptec 5405 raid cards (latest firmware), they work fine on 3.18 but during Dom0 boot using kernel 4.9.13 it hangs at ?Using clocksource tsc? and the aacraid driver keeps trying to reset Has anyone seen anything like this? I?ve tried specifying clocksource=xen in grub instead of the default of tsc, and that has the same issue. HPET is enabled and Xen is seeing it: (XEN) ACPI: HPET D9649CB0, 0038 (r1 ALASKA A M I 1072009 AMI. 5) (XEN) Platf...
