[Bug 261] New: AIX capabilities + port-aix.c cleanup
...he AIX capabilities correctly, so I had a look into fixing this. It looks to me like port-aix.c could be simplified by removing all setrlimit() calls and instead use the AIX functions setpcred()/setpenv() to set up the user environment. They are documented in http://tre.ii.uib.no/doc_link/en_US/a_doc_lib/libs/basetrf2/setpcred.htm http://tre.ii.uib.no/doc_link/en_US/a_doc_lib/libs/basetrf2/setpenv.htm Please consider applying the following patches so that we can use OpenSSH to run jobs on large page enabled AIX systems. The patches have been tested on AIX 5.1D, but according to my IBM contacts...

Natural vs National in R signon banner?
The R signon banner includes this statement: Natural language support but running in an English locale Should that not say 'National' instead of 'Natural'? Meaning that LOCALE support is enabled, not that the interface understands human language? Please ignore this and forgive me if this is an inappropriate post. I am a N00B in R. SAMBA on AIX --> nsswitch.conf?
Hi I am still trying to run SAMBA on AIX with "security = ads" and I have a few questions: - on AIX is no such file as /etc/nsswitch.conf --> Do I have to add the configuration somewhere else? - I allways get this "User xy is invalid on this system" if try to map a share from Windows. What does this mean? Is the user invalid on the Domain? on AIX? on SAMBA? Is the User

Binary distributions
I have just finished compiling Samba 2.0.7 and creating HP-UX swinstallable bundles for both HP-UX 10.20 and 11.00. In both cases I compiled with the +DAportable flag so that the linker would create PA-RISC 1 code, for hardware portability. If anybody has a need for pre-compiled HP-UX bundles I'd be happy to make these available. I can also compile on AIX 4.3 and SunOS 4.13 / Solaris 2.6

http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=283 ------- Additional Comments From janfrode at parallab.uib.no 2002-06-22 09:00 ------- hmm, I lost part of a sentence there.. ssh 4.x using aix 5.3 auditing
Im trying to identify how ssh 4.5 interacts with the audit subsystem within AIX 5.3. i get an event when a user logs in, but not when they exit via ssh. i can get it to work with telnet, however. It would seem to me that if an event is captured from the login, that the same would be true for the logout. I've opened a PMR w/IBM, but not getting very much help. below is an example of my

SAMBA eats up all memory...
Hello, I am running SAMBA 2.0.7.0 on AIX 4.3.3.0 I have a 1 Tera Byte filesystem on AIX made available to NT and MAC. There is heavy IO activity on this filesystem and all of a sudden the NT's and MAC's can't read or write any file on this shared filesystem. Also AIX is running out of memory whenever this happens and files cannot be copied onto the said filesystem even at unix

Samba ADS -- works with XP Pro, but not 2000 Pro
I am using Samba with Active Directory. I have successfully joined my Samba server to the domain D1 ( net ads join -U username@D2.DOMAIN.COM ). I am able to succesfully connect from Windows XP clients ( with no password ), but not from Windows 2000 ( even when specifying a password ). With w2k, I always get "Failed to verify incoming ticket!". I think it has something to do with
