Sangoma A200D analog card with fxo's
FYI... Just installed one of the new Sangoma A200D analog pstn cards with the hardware echo canceller on a trial basis. The card has four fxo interfaces. Excellent audio quality, excellent echo cancelling, and excellent audio levels. The four pstn lines at this location are rather long analog loops that have rather long echo trails. I started wi...

Sangoma A200D problem
Hi all, I've been having problems with my A20002D lately - callers from the PSTN don't hear me when I answer, but I hear them. Disabling echo cancellation in zapata.conf brings the audio (and echo) back. This used to work fine, until two days ago. The only weird thing in the logs is this: May 12 07:42:53 steerpike wan_ecd: wp1ec: The H100 slave has lost its framing on the bus! May

Bullet-proof FXO?
Been using a few different FXO interfaces (X100P, Voicetronix, and SPA-3000) at a couple sites and they've all run into nasty issues at times. I'm looking at moving one of my offices and am in the market for a solution for connecting 4 FXOs. I got excited about recent offerings from Digium and Sangoma in the way of new cards but I hear they're causing troubles for more than a few.

FXO without answer supervision
Simple question that google hasn't helped much with (likely poor search terms) I just installed a Sangoma A200 with overall good results. Initial tests with both incoming and outgoing calls were very positive. Until I made a normal call that lasted more than 30 seconds. I setup the FXO with kewlstart signalling, and the outgoing call is never registered as 'Answered' and the dial

FXS, Power and Sangoma
Hi I've a Sangoma A200D with 2FXO and 2FXS. When using it with only the FXO module, it's all good. But when I put in the FXS module and connect the power, logs tells me not enough power. > Mar 31 14:11:54 phone kernel: [ 4761.246931] wanpipe1: Module 1: > Failed to powerup within 600 ms (8V : 72V)! >...

UK FXO hangup detection with a twist
Hi, The twist? We actually have far-end hangup detection working fine, and that seems to be where the problem lies for most people. Our problem seems to be with requesting a hangup from our end reliably. If we originate the call, we can hang it up. This suggests to me that the Sangoma A200D is sending the correct hangup signaling. This way round, it is 100% reliable. If we accept a call originated elsewhere, then we cannot hang it up. Only the call originator seems to be able to do that. The upshot is that if asterisk hangs-up a line, and then tries to re-use it for an outbound call...

Call Quality Issues With 2 Trixbox's - Router Issue?
Hello Everyone, We have recently installed a pair of Trixbox servers in for a client of our. They have two locations, with one server each. The servers terminate 3 standard POTS lines into a Sangoma A200D card. The servers are IBM x3250 1RU servers (1GB Ram, Raid 1 160GB HDD, Dual Core Xenon Processors). We are using Trixbox 2.2, and G729 all around. Each site has two (2) 512k/512k ADSL connections terminating into a Cisco 877W router (using an additional 'dumb' modem in a separate VLAN for...

Which is the best fax-modem for testing ?
Hi, Which fax-modem would you pick if you had to test fax capabilities ? For instance, before releasing a new PBX system offering fax connectivity, you would like to make sure you "comply" with most fax machines and protocols. As you can't afford you buy and maintain tens of such fax machines nor can't afford to test by hand each protocol, it's tempting to buy an

problems with some incoming/outgoing calls
...0s, the server is a Dell SC440 with Intel E2180 CPU (dual core, 2GHz) and 512MB Ram. Internet Connection is an ADSL2, with a not so reliable ISP in australia. For incoming calls, I had a Digium TDM410P with 4xFXO modules and HWEC. Because of these problems, i replaced the Digium card with a Sangoma A200D, but it didn't make any difference to the problems. All phones are hooked up to a Netgear PoE switch. Almost forgot to mention that this is not my first Asterisk setup, and in fact it is my 4th, and I used various SIP handsets before, and also different cards (Analog and Digital), so I'm n...

TDM-400, Polycom SIP phones, and echo problems
Hi: I am working on a new system with a TDM-400P card with three FXO modules and one FXS module. The system has been in place for a week. Users are complaining of echo problems. I have noticed this echo myself. It varies in severity. It is sometimes bad enough to make it difficult to converse, but the users find it generally unacceptable. They miss their old phones, which just worked. As you can

Stability of Asterisk with 2 x TDM400P cards (6 analogue lines)
I would like to hear from anyone good or bad as what their experience has been in recent times with STABILITY of current builds of Asterisk and drivers for TDM400P. The sort of configuration is: 6 incoming POTS lines. ie. 2 TDM400P cards. I am not concerned with: price points, or the advantages or disadvantages of using POTS vs ISDN technology, but simply RELIABILITY & stability of the

Asterisk outbound calling does not wait for answer before playback
Hello Asteriskers, :-) We're trying to set up an outbound notification calling for system alerts with Asterisk 1.4.0. We generate a call file in /var/spool/asterisk/outgoing and the outbound call is originated through Zap/1 (Sangoma A200D to a Canadian POTS line). The problem is that Asterisk does not wait for the other side to answer before it starts playing the message. So the person called answers the phone after the second or third ring and only hears the tail end of the message and the "goodbye". Ideally, we wa...

Fun with Echo
I've spent the last week or so troubleshooting echo problems at my Wife's business, and I've been able to clear up about 99% of the echo, but there is still a little residual echo that I can't seem to "tweak out". The users describe it as "buzzing or crackling", but what it sounds like to me is a slight echo, but just of one syllable of the word.

Digium cards, so disappointing !
I am so fed up with Digium cards. My company first owned a TE410P, I installed it in a Dell server and "enjoyed" its instability (we bought it months before Digium warned about the incompatibility issues). Then we switched to a TE411P for the hardware echo cancellation. Now we want to receive fax (< 20/day) on it and guess what ? Since April 2006 (again a few months after we bought

Asterisk as a dedicated Analog PSTN gateway
...trix 1204 or an 8 port model? Basically, I am thinking of using a Linksys SPA9000 as the PBX and just need an Analog PSTN gateway for 4 to 8 FXO lines. It does not sound like the Mediatrix 1204 does a very good job and I figure I can build a much more elegant solution using Asterisk and a Sangoma A200d card. I suppose I would also have the option of using Astrisk Voicemail since the Linksys SPA9000 cannot do that either. Why I would want to use the SPA9000 as the core PBX instead of asterisk is a topic for another thread. Basically, I think it's a better solution for some smaller businesse...

apic vs xt-pic on fc3?
Currently running fc3 (2.6.9-1.667) on a test box with a TDM04b and A200D installed with svn trunk. Its working well except one of the cards is sharing interrupts with another device that I'd like to clean up. I'd like to try moving to io-apic interrupt support for more interrupts. The MB bios is config'ed to support apic, but apparently the kernel is not...

Caller ID issues
I am going to be on site at one of my recent installs tomorrow and I am hoping to fix an issue with the caller id. I would like suggestions for possible problem areas and so I thought I would give as much details as I can. The system has a Sangoma A200D card in it with 4 FXO ports and 2 FXS, The incoming pstn lines are all 3 part of a hunt group and At&t has confirmed the settings for caller id on all 3 lines. A call coming in on the third line has caller id, but the other 2 give the following messages in the CLI Nov 21 16:54:09 ERROR[6039] c...
