queue issue
I have a _very_ specific situation where I need queues to work in a very
specific manner - I need the queue to only accept one call at a time,
even though several phones are attached to it.
My memory tells me that queues might have even worked this way in the
distant past (pre 1.0)...but I am willing to be mistak...

If you want to have the latest version, you'll have to get the debian
source package for that from SID and rebuild it locally.

Mac mail copy/delete problems w/1.0b2
Hi,
Mac mail (a horribly mis-behaved client, it seems), has a horribly hard time deleting/copying large blocks of messages from one folder to another. The basic symptom is:
1. Select a bunch of messages
2. Click on delete
3. Wait for a _very_ long time.
It also seems very slow on copying, so it may be the "trash folder copy on delete" that is really slowing it down.
Anybody else seen this?

Hardlink+Sieve has never worked. The fix is a bit complicated. Here's my TODO entry about it:

under Wine? I'm talking about simple application, like
notepad, winmine.

FreeBSD 4.4-STABLE
RAM 128M

and now, fail2ban already blocked 114 IPs.
I have fail2ban with maxretry=1 and bantime=1800
However, it seems almost all IPs are different, and I don't think I can
keep the above settings permanently.
Robert, your iptables suggestions are _very_ interesting! However, will
they also work on imaps/993, because of the ssl?
Thanks for the quick replies!

vorbis_encode_init() bitrate arguments - offtopic

Thanks for the tip. I added the calls, and it works now.

But when streaming, IMHO it is _very_ essential to be able to specify a
maximum bitrate. I guess I can't use VBR mode then, can I?
Another offtopic question: what vorbis comments are 'supported' or
'valid'? I see in the examples:
vorbis_comment_add_tag(&vc,"ENCODER","encoder_example.c");...

Ceph + RBD + Xen: Complete collapse -> Network issue in domU / Bad data for OSD / OOM Kill
...long as we
don''t access it from a dom0 that run a VM hosting a OSD.
When attaching a RBD image to a Dom0 that runs a VM hosting an OSD,
things get interesting. It seems works fine when accessed from the
Dom0 itself. But if we try to use that RBD image to boot another domU,
then things go _very_ wrong.
On the Dom0, I see a lot of message in dmesg:
"osd1 192.168.3.70:6802 socket closed" and I mean a _lot_ like
dozens per seconds.
On the DomU running the OSD, I see in the dmesg a bunch of:
"net eth0: rx->offset: 0, size: 4294967295"
And in the OSD log...

...ks_. By this I mean that it only ever takes effort
to make it work _differently_, not to make it work _at all_. I don't
want to start a flamewar and so won't mention other VCSs that could be

- Perforce is _very_ well supported: should anyone ever need help,
Perforce support is incredibly helpful, polite and _eerily_ rapid to

that no support is available for people using Perforce with a free

PPPoE + Masquedate + Shorewall
...ow changed ISP and my new DSL connection is
PPPoE.
My setup is as follows:
internet <--------> 3com812 Officeconnect (bridge mode) <----> eth0

networks
Things are working fine, but the link is _very_ slow. I have tried
connecting the router directly to a win2k box and it is fast, so I have
concluded it is a configuration problem on linux box.
Trying to debug the problem, I have come to the following error messages

[PATCH] VMX: wbinvd when vmentry under UC
...0:00 2001
From: Liu Jinsong <jinsong.liu@intel.com>
Date: Tue, 26 Nov 2013 04:53:17 +0800
Subject: [PATCH] VMX: wbinvd when vmentry under UC
This patch flush cache when vmentry back to UC guest, to prevent
cache polluted by hypervisor access guest memory during UC mode.
However, wbinvd is a _very_ time consuming operation, so
1. wbinvd ... timer has a good possibility to expire while
irq disabled, it then would be delayed until
2. ... vmentry back to guest (and irq enalbed), timer interrupt
then occurs and drops guest at once;
3. drop to hypervisor ... then vmentry and wbinvd again;

Release of centos-3.3 ISP bill
It turns out that the release of Centos-3.3 was so popular, that it threw us
way over the threshold of our ISP's, and now we are stuck with a _very_ large
bill (as in an estimated 6TB of transfers). While in one hand I am ecstatic
that we are so successful, but on the other hand, that is coming out of the
developers pockets. The developers should be the last ones footing these
bills (and this one was very large).
You can help. Please consider...
