Up to date guide/information Sendmail SMTP Auth
...een googling my brains out since yesterday looking for up-to-date
information on this matter, and have found information that is anywhere
from 15 to 5 years old. I'd really like some information that much more
up to date on the subject. Specifically configuring Sendmail SMTP
authentication (_no smart host stuff_).
I've got Sendmail 8.14 installed on a CentOS 7.3 server. Also installed:
- Cyrus-sasl
- Dovecot
- Openssl
Essentially everything I need except the working knowledge for the
process. If someone knows where I might locate this information it would
be greatly appreciated....

Windows 7 and file ownership
...by DIR appears to have no operational effects. So, this is all
shiny.
On Win7, a "DIR /Q" on a mapped share similarly shows an owner of
"BUILTIN\Administrators", but a "stat" or a "ls -ln" in a cygwin bash
shell always shows a uid of 544 and a gid of 545, _no matter who_ the
logged-in user or the actual file ownership.
Cygwin /etc/passwd and /etc/group files are correct. Machine SID is good.
I am sure this is telling me something fundamental, but I am at a loss as
to what. I've checked everything I can think of, and all looks good.
Please someo...

heatmap documentation typo
Under Details, the documentation says "[if Rowv or Colv] is 'NULL',
_no reordering_ will be done for the corresponding side." In fact, as
explained elsewhere in the documentation, 'NA' is required, not
'NULL'.
An anonymous expert suggested that I should attach an svn diff file to
this report, so I will.

remote starting dir failsafe ?
...be --delete'd.
So my question is, is there any mechanism in the rsync
arguments that lets me explicitly tell it "don't start
below /home/users"
So no matter what the destination variable ends up
being (broken or not) the damage is restricted to
things inside of /home/users, and _no matter what_
there is no possibility of --delete'ing anything below
that ?
Comments ?
I have considered running a jail on the destination
and backing up to the jails IP instead of the actual
servers IP, but that seems unnecessarily complex. I
am hoping this can be done with normal rsync

Updated Patch to chan_agent.c for PREACKANNOUNCE
...to
SIP/100)
Then "ackcall" isn't used at all. In other words, a "hard-wired"
member seems to ignore the agents.conf file completely. Is this
the desired behavior? (It isn't for me...)
2) Since agents.conf is a separate file from queues.conf, having
multiple queues does _not_ permit multiple "preackannounce"
messages, each tied to a different queue (this strikes me as
having better been patched into the Queue command). Similarly, you
can't have one queue that has "ackcall=yes", and another with
"ackcall=no".
3) I have the _exact_ sam...

nouveau graphical corruption in 3.13.2
Hi guys,
With a GeForce 320M GPU running linux 3.13.2 and Xorg 1.15.0, I'm
seeing significant graphical corruption and later unrecoverable GPU
lockup, accompanied by thousands of ILLEGAL_MTHD or related kernel
messages [1]. I see similar issues on 3.12 also.
Is there any debugging or testing I can do to help diagnose this?
Many thanks,
Daniel

I wrote this article years ago:
https://www.madboa.com/geek/sendmail-auth/
The configuration outlined there is essentially unchanged today. I
have it running on a CentOS 7 machine with sendmail 8.14.
The only real change is the SOCKETDIR setting in
/etc/sysconfig/...

(no subject)
hi,
do somebody tell me, where i could find information about samba restrictions
compared with
Windows Server.
I' m trying to write a small paper for school, which describe a comarison
between samba and Windows Server.
I heard for example, that 1-Samba is not adapted for great nets?
2-Samba has not a "system management server" like windows?
3-Remote Procedure Calls (RPCs) has been

[Bug 70] udp connection(snmp) not being tracked.
...lter.org 2003-03-29 09:45 -------
>From what I understand while reading your bugreport, this is not a netfilter
issue. If you have applications (or your routing/...) configured in a way that
reply packets are sent from a different IP than the original request packets had
been sent to, there is _no way_ that conntrack will catch this.
In fact, I think even most clients will not work - since they expect a reply
from the address that they've sent something to. (depending on whether they use
connect(2) on a SOCK_DGRAM socket).
Please reopen this bug if you think that I misunderstood your p...

I've seen this kind of error before, on many different card types, and
have _no clue_ how it happens -- at no point is that command actually
written to the ring (I think). After that happens, it looks like
things get a little upset, and basically nothing works again. When
I've seen it before things tend to recover, but I guess they don't
have to.

Virtio Balloon- Can not see the results
with kvm and virtio- would -m 1024 take proceedence over -balloon
virtio? when i use both together, i see memory stay around 1024 MB less on my host side. I know the guest is not taking but a fraction of that ram, so I would expect the virtio balloon to take the majority of the guests ram and hand it back to the host. this is using the free util/command to take snapshots of the host memory.?
