RHL OpenSSH upgrade: _new_ sshd is not started
Hello all,
A few days ago I noticed that the following seems to happen when upgradign
OpenSSH on Linux-based (/etc/rc.d/init.d/sshd) based systems:
- sshd is restarted with 'sshd restart'; however sshd serving in port 22
is not replaced.
- you have to kill the old one (netstat -ltp | grep :ssh ; kill
...) first, then restart sshd.
- This might happen only when performing the upgrade

I see, in that case, I don't have any strong opinion. Maybe new
instructions would be simpler and cleaner...
I quite like the idea of having more expressive atomic operators, as

Problem with _new_ if class "lm" in object representatio n.
Hi,
But "any" rises some other problems well known from S3. One has "any"
for "free" in S3. You don't need S4. . But I know how "if" polluted
functions look like in S3. They are hard to understand and to
maintain. Hence I am quite happy to use S4.
Type-checking is usefull if you program with data. Also if you are on
the "C side" of the

To be clear, Chandler wasn't suggesting any change to the existing
load and store instructions. Instead, we were wondering if people like
the idea of _new_ atomic_load, atomic_store, atomic_cmpxchg, and maybe
atomic_exchange and atomic_add instructions.

rsync bandwidth usage
Hello all,
I'm experiencing about 20MBit/s on a 100MBit/s ethernet connection when
rsync'ing a lager number on _new_ files.
I don't have much exeprience with rsync. I'dd just like to know if thi
is an acceptable bw usage and what could be the limiting factors... in
order to try to increase this speed.
I'm considering using 1000MBit/s dedicated connections and so I'dd like
to know if I will or w...

Assigning has_many child in parent creation question
If I have...
class Parent
has_many :children

class Child
belongs_to :parent

* Assigning a _new_ child during parent''s creation saves the child
record with the parent''s id.
child = Child.new
Parent.create(:children => [child])
# Results in child being associated with parent
* Assigning an existing child after a parent''s creation saves the child

just a point (or two) worth mentioning, it's not exactly trivial for
clients to support "sniffing the content-type" in this fashion....Keep in
mind that media players are not browsers, and are not coded as such....To

ices refuses to load. It whines about libmp3lame.so.0 being missing. I
found the message in the archives that supposedly forces ices to compile
with lame support, still nothing.
./configure ends the same way regardless of options:

libshout: builtin

make sure that everybody is educated about how broken it was. I'm
extremely unhappy that it came up again.
If it turns out that some architecture does actually need a barrier
between a read and a dependent write, then that will mean that
(a) we'll have to make up a _new_ barrier, because
"smp_read_barrier_depends()" is not that barrier. We'll presumably
then have to make that new barrier part of "rcu_derefence()" and
friends.
(b) we will have found an architecture with even worse memory
ordering semantics than alpha, and we'll have to...

I do a "full up" test like I described initially.
So, it is possible that everything will be fine (there's been more
attention to leap second cases after the 2012 issue had wider impact
than the 2008 issue). It is also possible that some _new_ type of issue
has been introduced in the last 2.5 years that won't appear until this
leap second, but if nobody tests for it, we won't know until the clock
ticks 2015-06-30 23:59:60.
Short answer: last time it was threaded stuff like Java, the time before
it was systems under heavy kernel...

...ed due to common client bugs.
In this case, this isn't revelant - icecast 1.x doesn't support ogg
at all.
icecast 2.x will maintain content type (mp3, vorbis, etc.) regardless
of extension, but ending ogg mounpoints with .ogg is recommended as
a workaround for some very common client bugs (_new_ clients should
NOT under any circumstances rely on this)
