[patch] fix the ext3 data=journal unmount bug
This patch fixes the data loss which can occur when unmounting a
data=journal ext3 filesystem.
The core problem is that the VFS doesn't tell the filesystem enough
about what is happening. ext3 _needs_ to know the difference between
regular memory-cleansing writeback and sync-for-data-integrity
purposes.
(These two operations are really quite distinct, and the kernel has got
it wrong for ages. Even now, kupdate is running filemap_fdatawait()
quite needlessly)
In the early days, ext3 would assu...

...ll create a
cpio archive of that directory's contents that can be used as an initramfs.
See also: Documentation/early-userspace/README
2) Contents of the initramfs
When an intramfs archive is found during boot, the kernel will try to start
/init. This is the only file the initramfs actually _needs_. Everything else
is optional, depending on what you want the initramfs to do.
Typically you would want /init to be a shellscript which mounts the root and
other filesystems, loads modules and then starts the regular init via run_init;
all of which can be done with programs included in the klibc pa...

[PATCH] tools/stubdom: get rid of hardcoded pathes
Hi!
Attached patch makes xen-tools and stubdom-dm going independent
from hardcoded pathes. It is no possible to install into /usr/local or any
other non-default directory and use it out-of-the box.
This allows us to have different Xen versions in different directories,
simplifies packaging for distributions.
It also finds ''hvmloader'' and

[Bug 301] In openssh 3.3 and 3.4 pam session seems be called from non-root
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=301
------- Additional Comments From misiek at pld.org.pl 2002-10-16 10:14 -------
Of course this bug is not fixed even in latest 3.5 release :-( PAM really
_needs_ root priviledges. Any comments?

GetAsyncKeyState
I wrote an application in c++ which should return the GetAsyncKeyState(0x01). But I always get 0. If I click on the window of my app,I will get the right answer. GetAsyncKeyState should return systemwide clicks! The same things happens when I write a VB application.
I found an app written in Delphi which uses the GetAsyncKeyState call and returns systemwide clicks. Can someone tell me whats the

Horde domxml dependency problem
It appears that Horde requires the "domxml" PHP extension, which is
apparently not a part of the standard CentOS 4.x PHP 4.x distribution.
In fact, "domxml" is no longer available from the sourceforge web site
as they prefer the use of the dom libraries in PHP5 instead.

Given these facts, how has anyone gotten this working? I would love to

Mongrel and http 1.1 OPTIONS keyword
Hello.
I just seen some errors in my mongrel application log:
It seems related to the httpd OPTIONS keyword
Example:
Processing LoginController#login (for .30.5.208 at 2007-12-10 09:00:23)
[OPTIONS]
and our ruby application does not know what to do with it. and finally
send an error
Does mongrel (which is the http server) is supposed to deal with these
kind of request ?
I think these

Interconnecting two lans using Asterisk over a PSTN
Hello,
I am a newbie in Asterisk IP PBX but I am very impressed by its
functionalities.
I have read that It can work over IP network and across the PSTN.
I am not very sure how it works over the PSTN..
In case if people have not yet the Internet or SDL access, I would like just to
know if it is possible to interconnect two IP LANs using the traditionnal
analog Network and Asterisk PBX? In such I

Slow death-spiral with zfs gzip-9 compression
I am [trying to] perform a test prior to moving my data to solaris and zfs. Things are going very poorly. Please suggest what I might do to understand what is going on, report a meaningful bug report, fix it, whatever!
Both to learn what the compression could be, and to induce a heavy load to expose issues, I am running with compress=gzip-9.
I have two machines, both identical 800MHz P3 with
