USB boot problems on Gigabyte GA-M55Plus-S3G

E.g. archlinux-2013.11.01-dual.iso contains an isohybrid MBR which makes it suitable for dd'ing on the whole device (not into a partition or slice of the device). On my ol...

How do I force confint() for glm() to be quiet?
I need confint() for glm() to supress the messages "Waiting for profiling to be done..." because they mess up the caching mechanism of pgfSweave (see https://github.com/cameronbracken/pgfSweave/issues/40). I have read the help page of confint(), but I do not know how to get the help page for the glm() version, if any such help page exists. Is there a general way of turning of output

Well, for this case, it has appeared to me to fail in various different ways. >> After that, if anyone wants to produce a test image that I can simply >> download and directly dd to a USB stick, >> [other mail] >> Well, I now have a _minimal_ install of ArchLinux > >If you installed Archlinux from an ISO image, then this is probably >a test candidate for USB stick. OK, I have the file "archlinux-2014.01.05-dual.iso" and I have just now dd'd it to a 8GB Patriot brand stick I have here. (I used bs=1m. I'm no...

[LLVMdev] LLVM for JIT only use
...a, prepend 'lib' and look in llvm/lib/Release . > Where are these (I would like the list of all the lib*.{a,so} and all > headers <*.h> in /usr/local/ on my Linux/Debian/Sid/x86 system)? The headers are llvm/include/llvm/*, however, I can't tell you immediately what is the _minimal_ set of headers that will make a JIT application compile, because your JIT may use any of the LLVM functionality (theoretically). You could see what any of the examples #includes (HowToUseJIT, Fibonacci, etc) but some headers #include others... > How are these supposed to be installed (if possi...

Getting a blank page for uknown reason
I have a model that represents a Player, and within that there is a method that calculates wins and losses for that player based on a how they did in databases that are in the DB. When this calculation is over it is supposed to show a summary of the calculation. When testing it on my local machine using Webrick it works fine, but when I put it on my web server, after the calculation is done

Sysinux 6 will not boot ISOs on BIOS (i.e. pre-UEFI) systems
...DVD), burning speed (I suggest 4x; for a minimal testing ISO, using higher speeds is not necessary and might produce bad results), and the condition of the hardware (old optical drives might produce bad optical media). My point is, we could narrow down the problem, depending on the result of a _minimal_ ISOLINUX 6.02 BIOS-only ISO / media in comparison with an equivalent ISOLINUX 4.07 ISO / media tested on the same problematic system. @Phil, Could you please also post which exact systems are failing with the "Disk error 01, AX = 4279, drive FE" (or similar) error? Thank you and Bes...

Sysinux 6 will not boot ISOs on BIOS (i.e. pre-UEFI) systems
It occured with every BIOS system I tested on (none of them Dell): 1. HP G62 laptop (i3) 2. Samsung RV520 (i3) Don't know what system Philip Muller uses; have copied him in as he has far more technical knowledge than I do. Syslinux tested from Arch and Manjaro (an Arch derivative). Basically found then when creating latest ISO images. I may be missing something as well about the FMs. Just

changing cex pointwise in lattice
Dear R-users, I have tried, and I imagine it should be somewhere in the lines of passing extra arguments to the panel function, but does anyone know how to change the character expansion factor that is affecting an individual point in each of the panels of a lattice plot? I have tried to pass an overall cex argument containing the desired size for each point, but then the sizes are reused for the
