rsync'd destination much larger than source
Hello.
Recently, I started using rsync to backup files in my root partition on an
Ensim
box over to a remote machine. The remote machine 'pulls' from the Ensim box

rsync -arvzx --exclude=/proc --exclude=/tmp --exclude=/mnt --delete
--delete-excluded -e ssh 192.168.0.1:/ /bkup/rootpart/
The problem is, if I 'df' the Ensim box, it reports that the entire

Wine license
Please be patient and read this...
Can AJ please change the license of the wine-launcher (like mono does)?
You can still keep the libraries under LGPL.
Please note proprietary is not bad and no oss w/o proprietary...
You can make WINE a standard of binaries because of competition of Linux/BSD/Solaris binaries.
It would be good for OS developers if you Change the license of the WINE launcher.

Fix passwd/shadow/group files?
I've been copying old passwd/shadow/group files from system to system
for ages across different distributions/updates and would like to
get them back in sync with each other so the system tools will
work. Now they hang like:
#userdel irose
hangs forever, syslog says:
Jul 12 11:19:32 newftp userdel[30335]: delete user `irose'

high frequencies response
Hi there
In the past, i have used lame to encode high quality mp3-files
(vbr 1, bitrate ~ 192kbit). I tend to switch to ogg with Quality 4
or 5, but i noticed, that many ogg-files tend to produce too much
high frequencies response. In many cases, this is very noticeable.
For my opinion, i cannot accept this worse frequence reponse.
I have used latest version of ogg (OggEnc v1.0, precompiled
