NTLMv2 passthrough auth fails on XP
...Samba Domain, and authentication is restricted to NTLMv2
_IF_ The Windows XP machine has the following Security Policy turned on:
Network security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including
secure RPC) clients/servers
Require NTLMv2 session security
I would have laid this to rest, _EXCEPT_ that this setting does not harm
the connections to the PDC running Samba as well. The Windows XP can
login to the domain, and browse shares on the Samba PDC, but it cannot
coonnect to Samba Member servers authenticating through the PDC via
security = server AND password server = *.

Updating library
On Vista my R installation is in
C:\Program Files\R\R-2.6.0
and there is a library here:
%userprofile%\Documents\R\win-library\2.6
If I use the GUI Packages menu to update my library it
works ok _except_ for any packages such as lattice and
the VR bundle that come with R. For those I get this (this
is what I got when I tried to update lattice but I get a similar
message for the VR bundle as well):

WinSCP error while connecting to root
Hi folks,
I tried to use WinSCP (http://winscp.vse.cz/eng/) for a ftp like scp-GUI for Windows in order to connect to a HP-UX machine running 11.0 and openssh-2.5.1p2. The problem is that I can connect to any user I want _except_ root! When I connect to root, then the command "echo $status" (this is the way how WinSCP detects the user shell) results in a "logout root". The writer of the code asked me for a proposal but unfortunately I cannot help him. Do you have any ideas?
Thanks and a nice weekend

[InstCombine] addrspacecast assumed associative with gep

gep(addrspacecast(gep p0, 4) to p<bit>, 3) == (p0 + 4) * 8 + 3
As LLVM optimises this expression to:
addrspacecast(gep p0, 4 + 3) to p<bit>
Producing something entirely different.
But that said, I cannot think of a case where this would be a problem _except_ where CHAR_BIT would be different in one addrspace to the other, which LLVM doesn't claim to support AFAIK. Or somewhat generalised, where pX is a subset of pY, but pY has other addressable values between each valid pX in pY.
I note LLVM assumes that an address will load the same value regardl...

ADS groups and 'valid users'
...to get a Debian box running Samba 3.0.23d (latest from
debian testing) to work with our shiny new Windows 2003 server PDC.
I can join the domain.
windbinds various wbinfo commands return all the groups and users, as does
getent.
I can access everything from the PDC.
Effectively, everything works _except_ specifying a group to 'valid users'.
My smb.conf[0] is run of the mill and I see nothing out of the ordinary.
'wbinfo -g' reports[1] all the right stuff. I made a share (accounting) and
specified that the 'FOO+finance' group should have access by way of:

The other object defined in this package, plotTrack, is in frame 2:

I have tried unsuccessfully to put the genericFunction object plotT into
frame 2, using the 'where' argument in setGeneric. To cut a long story
short, I can put it anywhere _except_ frame 2.
Now it seems to me that I am barking up the wrong tree, but I don't know
how to proceed. Any guidance will be gratefully received.
The second part of my question is this. I clearly want to define a plot
method (not naming it plotT)for the 'track' class, which indeed is wh...

Finally, I built 1.2.18 from source today, and everything is

I have no idea what else to try, and would appreciate _any_ guidance.
Thanks in advance!

If you close your stream (i.e. terminate the stream as you currently do,
in every way _except_ actually closing the underlying physical stream
layer (file, socket, etc). Then start a new stream as you created the
original stream (except, obviously, using the existing file/socket).

I have it up and running on 2 SC420's with TE110P cards. Haven't had any

TE110P EuroISDN dial out timing out.
Hi,
Been asking google and browsing the lists but haven't found any answers
for this. I've connected a TE110P E1 using EuroISDN to a PBX (for me
at the time unknown model). All is fine _except_ when placing calls to
mobile phones (which takes too long, more than 2 seconds it seems)
asterisk seem to be impatient giving up saying the curciet beeing busy.
So, what I'm looking for, is were to set the timeout when placing calls
on the TE110P (not Dial timeout parameter) so that calls to f...

samba-3.0.14a: server doesn't show in browse lists
I'm using samba-3.0.14a as our samba server for 12 windows
machines. Works OK, except that it doesn't show itself on
the browse list. That is, on any of the windows machines the
browse list shows all the machines _except_ the server
itself. Yet net view \\server ( on one of the windows
machines ) shows the shares on the server.
/var/log/messages shows the linux box winning the server
elections.
Any help appreciated.

vfs object = recycle

recycle:keeptree = Yes
recycle:repository = Recycle Bin
recycle:versions = Yes

But testparm shows:

Exported resources & exec ?
Hi,
I''m sorry if that''s a FAQ, I also know exported resources are a still
experimental. So my problem might well be a design limitation of how
exported resources are working.
My issue: I''m trying to export a file resource that is created by an
exec block. The file is exported fine and collected fine but it is
always empty on the other host.

Unix socket support for sshd
...as Unix
socket support for hidden services that is traffic of a hidden service can be
forwarded to a Unix socket (see HiddenServicePort in tor.1). The rationale
behind that is basically so someone can set up a server with no inet traffic
allowed (firewall, namespace, <insert sandboxing tech>) _except_ for the tor
daemon and use hidden service to access services on the local machine using
only Unix socket, in this case ssh.
That being said, if you wouldn't object to this feature being added to ssh,
I'm willing to implement it and make the efforts for upstream merge. But

Inheriting environment - sshd server to shell child
The sshd server normally builds the environment variables from scratch
for a shell process it creates. Except when compile for Cygwin, it
simply adds settings to its own set of environment variable settings.
A comment in the code says this special case is made because in
Cygwin, some of sshd's environment is important for child processes
too.
I don't run Cygwin (I run Linux), but on my
