sssd-ad cannot be installed with sernet samba
...against using the DC as a file server, but
there are others. People have complained about the hard drive filling up
until the DC is restarted, there have also been problems with excessive
use of memory.
I will put it this way, which part of the following statement do you not
understand ?
*We _do not recommend_ using the Domain Controller as a file Server*.
As taken from the DC page on the samba wiki.
I have no worries about using windbind, it works for me because I use it
as recommended, it would seem that you are the one with the worries.

Problems with create and directory mode if mounted
...new files will have 664 permissions and new dirs 775
permissions. If I access to the smb shares over my file explorer and
create files an dirs, they get the permissions on the server I set in
the smb.conf. So it works!
Now the problem: If I mount the share and create there files and dirs,
they _DO NOT_ get the permissions on the server they should have (The
perimssions I set in the smb.conf)
My mount command:
mount -t cifs -o username=user,password=pass,iocharset=utf8
//home-server/share /share
(mount -t smbfs doesn't work)
I hope you're able to understand my (probably) english ;...

[PATCH 0/16] lguest: introduce vcpu structure
...eady used in
this very same way at lguest64. It's the first part of our plan to
have lguest and lguest64 unified too.
When two dogs hang out, you don't have new puppies right in the other day.
Some time has to be elapsed. They have to grow first. In this same spirit, having these
patches _do not_ mean smp guests can be launched (yet)
Much more work is to come, but this is the basic infrastructure.
Enjoy

That's clearly indicate bugs breeding and multiplying in the application.
Instead of telling people "oh, just don't do it", why not fix the bugs?

So, you are recommending to not use domain controller at all, I got it right?
Because a system that does nothing at all, just sitting there and grinning,
is an useless junk and should be discarded as soon as possible.

samba authentication via pam_pwdfile
...mining the right mix of global settings to get this to work. I
have read through many tutorials online, but so far I have not found
good documentation on how to achieve this. What I am really attempting
to do is unify the credentials for access to the server though ftp,
apache, and samba. I _do not_ want to link the linux shell credentials
to this for various reasons including security. Any helpful
suggestions would be appreciated.

[LLVMdev] New getelementptr instruction form
...s. Judging from
earlier discussions with Vikram, it should be realtively easy to support
these in LLC as long as he has time to implement it (in fact, it might
involve removing hacks that are in place to support the old broken
behavior). Until he gets to it though, LLC probably won't work, so _do
not_ update your tree if you need LLC.
In other, unfortunate, news, it looks like one of my recent changes [to
make it output code that doesn't do bad operations on pointers] broke the
GCC frontend fairly severely. The testcases I used to make sure it was ok
apparently didn't hit the prob...

Intermittent logon failures
Samba 1.9.17p2 running on SPARC 4 Solaris 2.5.
Windows 95 clients.
For some time now I have been hearing reports of users not
being able to logon to the domain--but I've never seen it
happen myself, and I never do anything to fix it. It's
just this annoying problem that doesn't happen often enough
for me to ever see or track down.
Today, FINALLY, I tried logging into a machine and
