lookup in CSV recipe
....csv is:
hostname,site,ip
fred,opsera,192.168.1.1
barney,bedrock,10.0.0.1
This is much nicer IMO - in particular I only need to change a .csv
file. That file is likely to be exported from a spreadsheet which
makes life even easier (later versions could just read the spreadsheet).
Beware: this is _definitely_ v0.1 - I''ve only done a couple of days of
Ruby so it''s more proof of concept than a final version - it''s also
only been tested for 5mins. Even so I thought it might be useful.
I thought about adding it to the wiki, but thought I should check here
first.

Rails 0.12.1: No major update without a bit of pain
There''s nothing like pushing a new major update in order to find bugs
in the code when its exposed to a couple of hundred working
applications. Thankfully the fixes were almost as swift as the reports.
In any case, you''ll _definitely_ want to upgrade to 0.12.1 right away.
There''s a good handful of fixes for both Action Pack and Active Record
(mostly concerning the new eager loading).
Here''s the dirt, so you don''t have to go look it up. First for Action
Pack:

According to the authors of the original advisory, this is _definitely_
a hoax.

revisions of xf86-video-nouveau, but it should be all better now - if
you're getting crashes, try upgrading to the latest.
Perhaps you can share your non-working configuration and Xorg log?
Further, there should _definitely_ not be any issues running each
GPU's in a separate X screen and then using some sort of fanciness to
link it all together (e.g. dmx at which point it can all be on
separate machines).

Hangup on save.image () / q ()
Dear all,
I am doing some data handling and tabualtions and then I am using glmmPQL to
fit a binomial hierarchical model (which I assign to a new object). If I do
a save.image () or a q ('yes') after this, I get the following warning
messages:

I am trying to understand lme. My aim is to run a random effects regression in which the intercept and jweek are random effects. I am comparing output from SAS PROC MIXED with output from R. The point estimates and the SEs are the same, however the DFs and the p values are different. I am clearly doing something wrong in my R code. I would appreciate any suggestions of how I can

demo(dyn.load) error in R 0.99.0
I noticed this error in my demo from previous versions as well as

well, that kind of leveraged consensus would have
been the way to go about this process a year ago.
but not today.

ZFS for Linux (NO LISCENCE talk, please)
Hello. I''m a nobody.
I use Linux. I have a hard-drive. I want the best / sexiest / what ever
fs for my hard-drive, as it isn''t one of those flashy flash drives,
which I presume don''t need an fs (???).
I was THRILLED that the ZFS for Linux thread started. And, I was equally
horrified (and sufficiently annoyed that I am starting this new thread) when
it degraded in to

Preferred backup s/w
Hi all,
What is the current preferred method for backing up ZFS data pools,
preferably using free ($0.00) software, and assuming that access to
individual files (a la ufsbackup/ufsrestore) is required?
TIA,
