How to create [new_context] in extensions.conf?
It _appears_ that the only way to create valid [context] is by a
context = line in sip.conf.
Is there another way to create a [new_context] in extensions.conf so I
can dial from it?
Right now most of my extens are in [default] and I'd like to avoid that.

chainloading syslinux problem
Hi!
I have bootable (USB flash) disk, that _appears_ to be using syslinux.
(the word syslinux is in the PBR, in the hexdump).
How can I chainload it? The payload seems to be a file that I tried
load with COMBOOT, COM32 etc, but nothing works (they report that the
file is not in proper format, wrong magic number or simply crash). How
to proceed?
is t...

Two XGL questions
I know this list is meant for discussion of compiz specifically, but ....
1) I sometimes see compiz spit out "Could not bind pixmap to texture"
messages, even though it _appears_ to be working fine. I randomly
guess that this is due to me running out of video memory (iirc I
have 64mb of vram). Is that possibly a problem? I think Vista and
OS X manually manage video memory so textures can be swapped out
to system memory and even disk. Does XGL do this?

Edge Rails (1.1.0 RC1) and Typo Trunk

into the following problems:
1) /public/../config/environment.rb:107: undefined method
`enable_upload_progress'' for ActionController::Base:Class
(NoMethodError). I commented this line out and installed the Upload
Progress plugin and this problem _appears_ to have gone away.
2) The second problem I haven''t figured out a work around for yet:

CentOS5, kernel update and 3ware driver
...es to
/lib/modules/2.6.18-8.1.1.el5/updates then did this:
mkinitrd -v -f /boot/initrd-2.6.18-8.1.1.el5.img 2.6.18-8.1.1.el5
The initrd image for the new kernel was rebuilt without apparent issues.
I booted up the new kernel and now it seems to work fine.
So here's my question:
The system _appears_ to work fine with the updated kernel and the driver
module from 3ware that was made for the original kernel. But this is a
machine that is supposed to be very reliable, so I'm wondering, do I
have to rebuild the driver for the new kernel, or can I just use the
existing driver version withou...

Wrap error_messages_for() call when no instance var present
I am trying to put some smarts around a call to
<%= error_messages_for %>
so that when I first come into this page i.e. when my instance variable
@target_list has not been defined yet, the page doesn''t break.
I''m doing this:
<% if @target_list? %>
<%= error_messages_for ''target_list'' %>
<% end %>
I get a syntax error on line 1.

CentOS 7, systemd, nut-monitor, and failing to shut down the UPS
...ue Thing to Do<tm>.
However, the default scripts provided in the EPEL RPM aren't actually
doing it. The host halts as expected but the UPS never gets the message.
After a lot of false leads and frustration I narrowed it down to the
/usr/lib/systemd/system-shutdown/nutshutdown script. It _appears_ that
the calls to "upsmon -K" and "upsdrvctl shutdown" can't actually do
anything because the USB device is in use. This _implies_ to me that
nut-driver is still running, even this late in the shutdown process.
I've "fixed" this problem by modifying the nutshu...

3.x build and 'net ads join' no longer work in 3.6.0
...ently
3.4.2
following the same procedure but it no longer works for 3.6.0. I'm about
ready to give up and hope that someone here might be able to give me a clue.
I would grab a pre-built package but neither sunfreeware nor blastwave have
the latest releases.
Debugging reveals that the problem _appears_ to lie in the NTLMSSP
negotiation/authentication.
'kinit domainadmin at DS.XXX.CA' followed by 'net ads join -U domainadmin'
results in
'Failed to join domain: failed to lookup DC info for domain 'DS.XXX.CA' over
rpc: Logon failure'
I think that these are the releva...

PlusV
Hi,
I haven't seen this mentioned here before.
http://www.plusv.org/
"With traditional MP3, a typical Near CD Quality audio file has been
encoded with a data rate of 128 kbits/s. While this is ok for people
with big hard disks and fast Internet connections, this data speed
has clearly been a bottleneck for people using modems or storing their
music into 32 or 64 MB portable player

Show stopper - 2nd cry for help
.... The title of the message box is
"Error Copying File or Folder". The contents of the message box is "Cannot
copy <filename>: The specified network name is no longer available".
4. I click "OK" to acknowledge the message.
5. Despite the error message, the file _appears_ to have actually copied
successfully, that is it appears in the target explorer window and has the
correct size.
6. Error messages are generated in the samba logs, mostly regarding oplocks.
7. Running smbstatus on the target server shows the file that was copied is
locked:
