ITSPs with good phone support
...utage at Broadvoice, there has been a lot of discussion here, on broadband reports, Voxilla, etc., regarding whether VOIP is mature, or "ready for the masses", etc. One particular point I've seen repeated, and with which I agree: "we're willing to deal with less than five 9s, even one or 2 9s, as long as we have good communication regarding the issue and its resolution." In other words, good customer relations are as important or even more important than the highest quality of service. This is no great revelation, but I don't see it practiced very much in...

circular
Hi, I'm new to R. I'm trying to plot my data into a circle. my data sort of looks like 12,12,4,5,6,5,11,10,3,9,9,9,12,12,2 total of 15 numbers. I'm trying to add all the same numbers, such that, there are 4 of 12s,1 of 11, 1 of 10, 3 of 9s, and such.... so the circle plot would have 4 parts of 12, 1 part of 11, 1 part of 10, 3 part of 9, and such... I tried >plot(circular(maxday[,2]*2*pi/12)) ##where maxday[,2] looks like the data above. but the only thing came out was dots, and they over wrote on each other. basically I would li...

Invalid "times" argument?
Hello, I'm new to R and work with psychometrics (Item response theory). I was using a package called "cirt" to model a data that contains only 0s, 1s and 9s. The package is basically used for Monte Carlo Markov Chain estimation of parameters and I specified 5000 iterations. The model seems to run fine but when I try to recover odds ratio statistics using the function "irtfit" (part of the cirt package), I keep getting the following error. I t...

Web Interface for adding new users
...one switch. Newbie kinds of questions: Is there any web-based tool that would allow non-technical personnel to add new Telephone customers? Has anyone developed any database interfaces for billing data or Customer maintenance? Is everyone comfortable that Asterisk is capable of delivering five 9s, primary residential, 911 functioning service? Strange behaviour with global variable in C
...g $ MAKEFLAGS="CFLAGS=-g -O0" R CMD SHLIB myProgram.c the global variable in question is the log likelihood. In an old version of the program I initialized this as double loglik = -999999999999999 and in current versions I initialize this as double loglik = 0.0 and long sequences of 9s do not appear anywhere in the program now (I confirmed this using the grep command in bash) A function called update_loglik() exists in the file loglik.c and so myProgram.c includes the line #include "loglik.c" prior to the main() function. The first line in the function update_loglik...

[PATCH v36 0/5] Virtio-balloon: support free page reporting
...r > letter. > Could you have a look at https://lkml.org/lkml/2018/8/27/29 . Thanks. OK, that's much better. The ~50% reducton with a 8G VM and a real workload is great, and it does what you expect when you put a lot more RAM in and see the 84% reduction on a guest with 128G RAM - 54s vs ~9s is a big win! (The migrate_set_speed is a bit high, since that's in bytes/s - but it's not important). That looks good, Thanks! Raidz vdev size... again.
Hi, i''m new to the list so please bare with me. This isn''t an OpenSolaris related problem but i hope it''s still the right list to post to. I''m on the way to move a backup server to using zfs based storage, but i don''t want to spend too much drives to parity (the 16 drives are attached to a 3ware raid controller so i could also just use raid6 there).
