How accurate is "ustack"?
I have been doing some profiling using the profile provider. I have a
command that runs more slowly on the T1000 than it does on prior
systems and I am trying to find out why. Using the profile provider at
1000 hz, and aggregating on the ustack output, I find that the same
function appears at the top of the stack on both platforms, but on
each there are specific instruction locations within

Script for Stackdepth by Thread/LWP?
I''m interested in monitoring the amount of stack used by a multi-threaded program. I assume ''stackdepth'' built-in would be useful...but not sure. Been through demo''s, ToolKit, and internals..but it''s just not clicking for me yet.
Not sure how to measure start/end of stack size dynamically...Anyone know how to break this down?

CDR Problem - No CDRs when call is not bridged
Hi!
I just found out that Asterisk (1.4) does not write CDRs if the incoming
call was not forwarded but handled internally without answering the call.
E.g.:
[from_pstn]
exten => 997,1,Answer()
exten => 997,2,Playback(tt-weasels)
exten => 997,3,Hangup()
exten => 999,1,Playback(tt-weasels|noanswer)
exten => 999,4,Hangup()
For incoming calls to 997 a CDR will be written, but not for 999.
How can I change this behavior?
Thanks
Klaus

Possible incorrect file permissions in documentation for setting up Samba with LDAP(S)?
Hi All,
This Samba release changelog
(https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Updating_Samba#Incorrect_TLS_File_Permissions)
specifically mentions a security issue and that that the multiple *.pem
files needed for LDAP via TLS all need "special permissions" - and
mentions to delete old files without the required permissions to force
file renewal.
Yet in the official Samba documentation

HTB Question
...doing the shaping, while shaping the
traffic at 64kbit going thru the box to the network, WITHOUT affecting the
small 64kbit bandwidth.
In EXAMPLE 1 ALL traffic goes thru 1:1 but does not seem to affect the slow
channels 1:2,1:3 and 1:4
In EXAMPLE 2 the port 3000 traffic only goes thru 1:998 and 1:997 but it
shows "lended" packets in the "tc stats"
My feeling is EXAMPLE 2 is the right way but I would like your input
EXAMPLE 1:

tc qdisc add dev eth0 root handle 1: htb default 999 r2q 1

compaq r4000 /proc/cpuinfo reports 997 and should be 2400
Hi
I have a compaq R4000 with the 2.4GIG AMD 64 bit. 4000+ rated.
proc cpuinfo reports
cpu Mhz as 997.481
Do I have to run the 64 bit version to have things run correctly?
I just have the normal 4.2 loaded at this time.
The laptop seems slow for 4000+ as reflected by the cpu Mhz also.
Any thoughts on running the 32 bit version of 4.2 vs the 64 bit version
of 4.2?

Windows TAP Problems?
...etwork and
ran into an interesting error; upon starting tinc I am met with the
usual successful startup (debug level 0; detects TAP device; Ready),
however it appears that any writes/reads from the TAP device fail with:
"Error while writing to Windows tap device <device ID truncated>: (997)
Overlapped I/O operation is in progress"
A bit of googling doesn't reveal much except some possible intrusions by
a couple of recent Windows KB updates. Is this some glaring failure of
my own that I am just not seeing, or have the new updates incapacitated
tinc in one way or another?...

Apple Mail cannot connect (1.0 beta3)
I'm testing 1.0 beta3 on our mail server, and finding that Apple Mail seems
unable to connect to it.
I'm running the 1.0b3 on port 997 so we can test it in parallel to 0.91 to
compare performance (so far, it's hella faster). I've ensured that the
users testing are _not_ connecting in any way to the 0.91 version running on
port 993.
From the OS X client side (10.4.5 + latest patches), Apple Mail simply sits
there and...

reboot of nut managment node resets Tripplite SMX1000LCD
Hi Roger et.al,
The shutdown /reset of UPS is near instantaneous after rpi reboots or
switches off.
FWIW -- It looks like something is off with Ubuntu 20.04 -- I tried
with raspbian and arch linux using the same nut configuration on the
same hardware and the UPS does not reset.
I have repurposed an old rpi2 to act as a nut server.
Thanks Roger.
