Maximum Number of Calls Asterisk Can Handle
...uation, I have no plans to run anything other than G.711/SIP,
so my transcoding need is probably only limited to the playback of
pre-recorded messages as well as any processing involved in leaving
voicemail.
in theory, a gigabit interface can move 1048576Kbit/sec - now if i
generously allocate 96Kbit/sec for every G.711 call, the network
transport can handle, again in theory, 10922 simultaneous calls. would
it be wrong to expect performance near this mark for the asterisk software?
Feedback appreciated,

Per Ip bandwidth

128Kbit
I have observed that if the user whois ip is going to class 1:11 has
more threads, that that fro9m class 1:12 then, there is no more fairness
in borrowing, so that user with 1:11 gets almost all the unused
bandwidth from the parent ( going up to 96Kbit/s ).
2)
why do I get " qdisc pfifo_fast 0: [Unknown qdisc, optlen=20] " at tc
qdisc ls dev eth0 right after booting the computer, without attaching
yet any qdisc ??
Thank for your ideeas.

So it seems the real bitrate is about 12kbit/s but opusinfo says it is
96kbit/s.
Is this some known error that have already been fixed or did I
misunderstand something?
Thanks!

I am trying to compile "iproute2" (iproute2-2.4.7-now-ss020116-try.tar.gz,
inclusively the latest HTB patch, activated diffserv components) on a
SuSE-Linux 8.2 system (using "gcc 3.3", system based on "glibc 2.3.2").
It is no problem as long as I use the kernel header files of linux-2.4.20
