Yes, it is still possible to use only the hostname, but if something is off in resolving it doesnt work.

Hello Morillo,
I have reviewed the steps described again. In fact, I had already done this
several times. :D
Even so, it does not map. The shared folder is mapped, but the printer is
not. On windows 7 it works correctly.
