Using unicode with sprintf or paste in Windows (PR#11515)
...163.230)
Using Unicode characters in Windows works with static strings (as of R 2.7.0),
however fails when used with sprintf() or paste(). For example, on R 2.7.0 for
Windows XP (SP2):
Static string (works, showing Greek Delta character):
> print("\u0394Q = 2.2 L/s")
[1] "ΔQ = 2.2 L/s"
However, when I use paste() or sprintf(), the Unicodeness is lost:
> paste("\u0394Q =",round(1.2345,3),"L/s")
[1] "<U+0394>Q = 1.234 L/s"
> sprintf("\u0394Q = %.3f L/s",1.2345)
[1] "<U+0394>Q = 1.234 L/s"

bandwidth.com will not sell me a sip line since the address is in Citrus Heights CA
...alled bandwidth.com to buy a sip line from them for $30 a month.
But they said they will not sell me a sip line since the address on
the account is Citrus Heights CA and they can not provide services in
that area. On asking further the person clarified that there is no
e911 service available in the 916 area code for bandwidth.com
But other providers like www.broadvoice.com are able to provide us
VOIP services in the 916 area code.
I am wondering how can I get the bandwidth.com service,
Thanks,

Double HTML encoding in R Bug Tracking Submission form (PR#11517)
The "New Bug Report" form available from http://bugs.r-project.org/
appears to double encode the HTML of the "body" text area of the form.
This behaviour can be seen in submission ID # 11515, where (as an
example) "??" is converted to "Δ" in the browser view or
"Δ" in the HTML source code. Conversion to "Δ" in the HTML
source is sufficient to render "??" in the browser output.

How to know the recordsize of a file
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
I would like to know the blocksize of a particular file. I know the
blocksize for a particular file is decided at creation time, in fuction
of the write size done and the recordsize property of the dataset.
How can I access that information?. Some zdb magic?.
