Re: Precedence of %% (PR#879)
This message from Duncan M. (listed below) seems to have escaped the r-devel list, possibly due to lack of a subject header. gram.y has ... %left '*' '/' '%' %left SPECIAL %left ':' ... and %% is a SPECIAL token, so it does indeed have higher precedence than *. This is somewhat unusual compared to other languages, but it is

Converting tables to matrices
Hi there, I'm a real beginner to R. I have two tables of the following format (~1000 rows in each): Table 1 (experimental) N bp 1064 12312089 856 12312234 .... Table 2 (control) 8463 34728908 879 34443290 ..... I would like to do Fisher's exact tests comparing each row of the tables e.g. the test for row 1 would look something like this: Experimental Control N 1064 8463 bp 12312089 34728908 How do I either: a) Create ~1000 2x2 matrices from each ro...

matrix question

So for instance I have a vector s: [[1]] [1] 44308 [[2]] [1] 4371 Also, I have a list d: [[1]] [1] 1201 6170 2036 2927 1625 1391 2074 1453 3172 3027 4691 3719 1185 320 2071 1027 1046 1186 1403 580 1382 440 8 174 [[2]] [1] 6521 688 2678 3409 3033 1608 3618 1461 1836 2104 879 1095 2630 1591 2986 703 2548 913 1426 753 256 869 106 I want to multiply them together and put the results in a matrix. This is my syntax: for(i in 1:length(s)) for(j in 1:length(d)) m<-d[[j]][j]/s[[i]] #m is the matrix of dimensions set to X(e.g. 10X10) However, it seems I only...

unexpected memory.limit on windows in embedded R
...rk only in standalone R (Rf_initEmbeddedR ignores them); - R\src\gnuwin32\system.c defines R_size_t R_max_memory = INT_MAX; which is the reason of the 2GB default limit on embedded R; however INT_MAX is not the maximum integer value of an R_size_t variable either on win32 nor on win64; - line 879 of the same system.c source says: "/* set defaults for R_max_memory. This is set here so that embedded applications get no limit */" (meaning that that code is executed only for standalone R) which suggests that, at some point, the intention for embedded R was to impose no limit by defaul...
