tricky (for me) merging of data
...n data ahead and behind 15 days (or less if the individual was
recorded fewer than 15 days in either direction) from the date it was
recorded (this is where I'm stuck).

tricky (for me) merging of data...more clarity
...ide of this window should have NAs (there are other data associated
with those days). When I merge these to files, is there a way to write
these body condition values forward and back 15 days? This would give me
something that looks like sheet 3.

Alignment and Reshaping of the matrix
Dear R users,
I have a matrix like

each pair of columns present a variable name and next the value. I have
matrix with more than 500 rows and column.
Now I want to convert this matrix in to.

differences between survival models between STATA and R
Dear Community,
I have been using two types of survival programs to analyse a data set.
The first one is an R function called aftreg. The second one an STATA
function called streg.
Both of them include the same analyisis with a weibull distribution. Yet,
results are very different.
Shouldn't the results be the same?

Probs with Intel NetportExpress
...ck booting the box.
I used the Netportmanager on a Windows box configure the NetBios path
to my OpenBSD Samba server.
Now the problems begin, the Netport does not download anything from
the samba server.
It sends frequently broadcasts - to connect to the Netbios name
as i would guess.

Sort matrix with duplicate row names alphabetically by rowname
Hi,
I've a matrix that contains 4 replicates of each rowname. (4 a's, 4
b's, 4 c's in no particular order) Like this:

There are a couple of more columns but I'm using the above as an example
I need to sort it so that the same rownames appear together in
alpahbetical order. Like this:
