UEFI memdisk freeze
...ooted with UEFI and Grub2. I tried to load VHD files
with memdisk and boot from there. memdisk is extracted from
'bios/memdisk' in syslinux 6.03 zip file.
In Grub2, I executed:
linux16 /memdisk harddisk
initrd16 /Win10.vhd
Then the system frozen at 'initrd16' line.
The VHD file is 8192MB, fixed image. I also tried to boot a small
floppy disk (FreeDOS), and no error reported from Grub2 or memdisk
side.
Is there anything wrong with my steps? How to properly load an fixed
VHD image to ram disk and boot it?

[PATCH] virtio: avoid possible OOM lockup at virtballoon_oom_notify()
...ot;struct virtio_balloon_config"->num_pages updated when
leak_balloon() is called via out_of_memory() ?
Below explanation assumes that your answer is "no".
I consider that fill_balloon() is using __GFP_NORETRY is a bug.
Consider an extreme situation that guest1 is started with 8192MB
memory and then guest1's memory is reduced to 128MB by
virsh qemu-monitor-command --domain guest1 --hmp 'balloon 128'
when VIRTIO_BALLOON_F_DEFLATE_ON_OOM was not negotiated.
Of course, 128MB would be too small to operate guest1 properly.
Since update_balloon_size_func() continues c...

Page allocation failure and slow system
...mpanied by a severe slowdown of the system. In fact, it's
practically locked.
The machine runs gnome-desktops for 40 users plus about a hundred
sessions of a curses based point of sale software, plus a few other
functions, so it's a busy machine. Dual Xeon 3.2GHz processors. 4096MB
ram. 8192MB swap.
During this period, I'm seeing lots of swapout. sar reports 266 pages
per second averaged over that 10 minute period.
I'm thinking that I have a runaway process, but have not been able to
see one of these instances for myself at the time it is happening.
I've set up a monitor...

Bug: Limitation of <=2GB RAM in domU persists with 4.3.0
I just built 4.3.0 in order to get > 2GB of RAM in domU with GPU
passthrough without crashes. Unfortunately, the same crashes still
happen. Massive frame buffer corruption on domU before it locks up
solid. It seems the PCI memory stomp is still happening.
I am using qemu-dm, as I did on Xen 4.2.x.
So whatever fix for this went into 4.3.0 didn''t fix it for me.
Passing less than 2GB
