Extension Mobility with Asterisk and Cisco 79x1 phones
Hi. I'm trying to develop a module that emulates the Cisco Extension Mobility feature from CallManager (the ability to log in to a phone and temporarily acquire the extension, soft key programming, and all other settings for that user profile) with Asterisk 1.4 and Cisco 79xx phones (some with SIP and some with SCCP, as the 7914 extension module does not support SIP). I've almost

Cisco 7961 new firmware stops reading configuration files
...e phone I have to downgrade to 8.2.2R4 and change the configuration, and then upgrade to 8.3.2R1, which is a bit of a pain. The tftp logs indicate that the phones is getting the correct SEP<MAC>.xml.cnf file but will not parse it, so that doesn't seem to be the issue. The Wiki pages for 79x1 indicate that it's a known issue, has anyone managed to get past the issue? I tried logging a call with Cisco TAC, but they're giving the "We don't support SIP on anything other then CME..." Thanks, Chad _____________________________________________________________________...

Cisco 7961G + 7914 Expansion Module
All, Since I have now (at least partially) got my 7961G phones working with Asterisk, I have temporarily moved on to try to get the expansion modules working. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of documentation here either. Does anyone have this combination working (or any 79X1) here? My goal is ultimately to do the monitoring approach. I have Google'd around, but come up with little. I want the office manager to be able to see when the user is on the phone or when the phone is ringing (or even be able to pick it up). I am looking to keep this operation with...

Does SIP limit to 3-way conference?
Hello all, I'm in final testing stages and preparing training for a new Asterisk rollout. I'm replacing a Cisco Call Manager system, and re-flashing the 79x1 phones with SIP 8.5.2. With the SIP load and while in a call, I use the "Confrn" softkey to invite other participants. I can add one other participant endpoint into the conference, but no more. I know I can (and will) use MeetMe to do large conferences. My question is - am I forced...

Trouble registering Cisco 7942
I'm trying to connect a Cisco 7942 to my Asterisk box. I have a 7960 and 7912 currently connected and functioning. I'm trying to use the recommendations from here: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+phone+cisco+79x1+xml+configuration+files+for+SIP I have created a "XMLDefault.cnf.xml" and it took the latest image but the phone states it's unprovisioned? Any recommendations based on the XML configuration below? Thanks. <device> <deviceProtocol>SIP</deviceProtocol> <deviceP...

Cisco 7965 SIP Firmware
I have 7965 and am trying to convert the firmware to SIP (SIP45.8-3-4SR1S). Does anyone have a valid XMLDefault.cnf.xml they could share? I have tried the version at voip-info<info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+phone+cisco+79x1+xml+configuration+files+for+SIP&view_comment_id=14768#Troubleshooting>for the 7941/7961 but unfortunately /var/log/messages shows in.tftp stops sending after XMLDefault.cnf.xml (see below), so i'm assuming the 7965 doesn't like my XMLDefault.cnf.xml. Cisco 7970 BLF/Presence
...nning SIP firmware) to display presence information about other extensions. Thus far, I have been unsuccessful. Does anyone have BLF working on the SIP-loaded 7941/7961/7970/7971? I have been using the following as a guide for my work: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+Presence+for+Cisco+79x1+Phones I have successfully implemented every step (although there are a few minor errors in the code on that page that I have corrected) except for the part where the 7970 has to connect to Asterisk via SIP/TCP. I have chan_sip.c patched with the SIP/TCP patch to allow for connectivity, but I cann...

BLF on Cisco 7970
Hello All, I've been trying to get BLF working with Asterisk 1.6-LatestBeta, and My Cisco 7970 (Latest SIP Firmware). Has anyone successfully completed this? I got the patch to merge in from http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+Presence+for+Cisco+79x1+Phones With a bit of hackery to that code, it successfully compiled chan_sip for me. So, With 1.6 we have TCP Enabled on Asterisk, Phone functions and registers fine. I think all that is left is the SEP<MAC>.xml configuration required for BLF on the softkeys. Can anyone else share some ins...

Can't configure Cisco 7942 avec factory reset
Hi, (I think) I followed instructions here ( http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Firmware+issues+on+7940+-+7960 section "Notes added Nov 2005, revised May 2006:" at the bottom of the page) to factory reset a Cisco 7942 I wanted to configure to SIP firmware. When booting, I can see this requesting and obtaining file term42.default.loads from TFTP server. Then it would send a request

Cisco 7970 SIP upgrade issues
Dear Asterisk People, I am having problems putting a SIP image on a 7970. I was wondering if anyone can help? First problem is the phone is running version Load IDJar70.2-5-47-17.sbn Boot Load ID7970_64054100.bin Version5.0(0.6S) So I did read that you couldn't simply put the latest SIP image on such an old phone and a newer firmware version should be used. I got

Unprovisioned 7961
Hi Everyone, I am having some issues getting my 7961 working with Trixbox. I have loaded the SIP code (8-3-3SR2) fine but when the phone boots up it goes into an unprovisioned state. A status message shows up and says ?Error Verifying Config Info?. I have read quite a bit on this topic (getting 7961?s to work with Asterisk and TB) and only came across a few postings where other people
