6.0 image for Cisco 7960's?
Has anyone managed to get their hands on a 6.0 image for their 7960's yet? Or is it still in beta? Rumor (official rumor, from Cisco) is that it supports paging and intercom. I'm anxious to start working with those features, if they've been implemented sanely. What would be just as nice would be NOTIFY messages for pushing XML URL's to the p...

one extention, multiple phones
Is it possible to get a few 7960's and asterisk to allow all of the 7960 phones to use one extentsion and can only be used by one person at a time, have it indicate on the other 7960's when one of the others has the line engaged. Basicly so like I can setup a rule when an incoming call comes from IAX to divert to this exte...

I have a friend I am building a phone system for, I would like to use * He owns a "Take Out" restaurant with 4 Phone lines and 4 Phones. I'm going to use Cisco 7960's for the phones; is there a better phone I should be using? I need to know if this is possible... On each phone program the appearances of 4 "Extensions" that are really the 4 phone lines? If Phone "A" puts line 1 on hold can phone "B" see it on hold or will i...

7960 Queue Issue
Morning All, Quick question that has me stumped. Have a queue with several members (Statically defined in queues.conf at this stage for testing) who use Cisco 7960's. The queue is configured to use rrmemory and generally this works correctly. However if a member is already on a call their phone will still ring (The 7960 can show multiple incoming calls for one line). I really don't want members who are on calls to get more calls. Especially when we s...

Audio dropouts w * and 7960's
We are having some problems with the audio during a call dropping out for a second or so and then returning. This is not at the beginning of the call and seems to happen randomly. We use primarily Cisco 7960's and our * is a very current version of CVS head. The server itself is a Compaq dual PIII 800 w 1GB of RAM, it has a single T100P card with a T1 to our voice provider. We have very light call volumes, the most I have really seen are 4-5 calls from SIP to ZAP or vice versa. When running top I s...

MWI to 7960's sometimes delayed or lost. Please advise.
I have a large group of 7960G's running Asterisk 1.2.4 using SIP 7.5. Most of the time the message waiting indicator works fine. Once or twice a day either an MWI is not sent to the phone or the phone misses it. I have not noticed duplicates being sent and I can't figure out the time, if any, a resend is made. Anyon...

Problems getting 7960's to play nice with Asterisk
I'm trying to get my newly flashed 7960's to play nice with Asterisk, but I'm having some problems. I can get my 7960 to register with the proxy, and if I dial my own extension, according to my dial plan asterisk should transfer me to voice mail. Asterisk "thinks" its playing me voice mail prompts, but the phone just ri...

Cisco 7914 Expansion Unit (for 7960G IP Phone) & Help With 7960's Speed-dials
Hi, Has anybody been successful in running the 7914 expansion unit for the Cisco 7960G IP phone? For anybody unaware of what the expansion unit does, it provides 14 additional buttons, with an LCD display. The idea, is that with an expansion unit (a 7960 can take upto 2 of these units), a user can either assign more speed-dial's, or can monitor line status/account status. So...

chan_sccp with multi-lines and 7960's
Now that I am using the chan_sccp module, the phones now work as single line phones. However, these phones have support for multiple lines. So I setup phone1 with extension 1001, and phone2 with exts 1002 and 1003. If I call ext 1003 from 1001, phone2 rings correctly and if I pickup the handset on phone2 I can carry on the conversation. If I call ext 1002 from 1001, phone2 rings as it should

Covad anyone ...
...tion work with Covad's hosted solution ? I am considering Covad's hosted solution and want to be able to use Asterisk to develop some other apps. Anyone else tried this ? how did Covad react. I know they use MGCP. Another thing, the Cisco reseller rep tells me if I have a bunch of 7960's setup for MGCP (for use with Covad) I will need to get these phone hooked up to a Call Manager system to get them to load a SIP image for the first time. That doesn't fit with anything I have been reading from Cisco and other places. Any truth to that ? TIA Alan

Cisco 7960 SIP V6 and distinctive ring.
Hi Can anyone with distinctive ring on their 7960's possibly post how they've got it to work? I understand that the ALERT_INFO variable is involved but using the examples for the variable value from the WiKi I'm just getting an error message from the Asterisk concole. Thanks in advance. P

Hook Flapping on Cisco 7960
Hey all, I'm running * (1.0.9) with some 7960's. When I pick up the handset it often will flap on and off hook eventually hanging up on me and not realizing that I am still holding the handset. These phones are running with the SIP 7.5.0 image on a LAN (no NAT). I am not sure if this is a phone issue or an Asterisk setting. Ideas?

SLA Appearance between 2 Cisco 7960's (SIP)
Has anyone had any success with getting SLA going between 2 SIP phones? (Particularly a set of Cisco 79xx's) The SLA document that comes with the asterisk source is about as clear as mud. Does anyone have a working sip.conf, sla.conf, and extensions.conf that I can use for reference? The part I'm most confused about is how to build the lines in sip.conf and how the phones should

Extension availabilty
...however, with their existing system each phone is capable of displaying who is on the phone within there office. This is done by lighting a red light for each line(extension) that is in use. Has anyone been able to neatly create this feature? Perhaps an XML application can be written for the Cisco 7960's that would be capable of displaying which extension is being used and which extensions are not in use. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, -Josh -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-us...

Cisco 7960 backlight and list etiquette?
Hi I've taken apart a 7960 to fit a backlight to the LCD. Would others on the list be interested in this as a project when I've finished (i.e. should I document and photo all the stages)? Also I can source some 7960's at a very good price but what are the rules about posting this information on the list if others w...

New cvs compile; basic operational question, please.
Can someone offer a hint on what I'm doing wrong with the basic * config? Just implemented * for the first time using yesterday's cvs. The initial configs are based on John Todd's article at http://www.onlamp.com/lpt/a/3956, and using two 7960's for initial testing. When one 7960 calls the other, I get the following and the call is dropped: -- Executing Dial("SIP/3001-ec1c", "SIP/3000|20") in new stack -- Called 3000 -- Got SIP response 488 "Not Acceptable Here" back from 206.222.193.92 ==...

Remote Connection to Asterisk
...rver in a LAB ENVIRONMENT on my home LAN. The server has a Wildcard TDM400 installed but has no POTs lines/phones connected. The LAN is "talking" to the Internet via a Linksys WRTG-54 router connected to my cable-modem. - On the home LAN, I've also got a few Cisco phones (7940's/7960's & one 7905) that work fine talking back and forth with each other via Asterisk. Actually, one of the 7960's is connected to my Broadvoice account so I KNOW sip works over my local LAN connection. My home (real world) IP address is static. On the router, I've turned on "DMZ...
