Cisco 7960 SIP + 7914
I found a few mentions of the 7914 being used with Asterisk, these all
covered SCCP/skinny though. Does anyone know if the 7914 can even be
used with SIP? If so, any pointers? Is it a services thing? Anyone get
the operator (line/extension status) to work with it. Thanks for the
help, Cisco doesn't even mention ANYTHING about SI...

Cisco 7914
I am looking into the possibility of buying a Cisco
7960 with a 7914 expansion module. I know a lot of
people are using the 7960, but I haven't read much
about the 7914 and I was wondering if anybody has used
this module with Asterisk?

7960 + 7914 Problems
I'm still having problems getting this to work. I cannot get anything to
display on my 7914 other than blank lines.
I have SIP/5920-5930 in [main] that I'd like to add to the 7914 and
indicate hook status. The 7960 is registering okay as SCCP/5000.
What exactly should my sccp.conf file look like? When I make changes to
this, how do I enact them? Do I reload Asterisk and reboot the p...

interested, I'm clearing out lots of new Cisco stock...

I also have boxes of 7914's, the single-7914 foot stand and double-7914

And some useful locking and non-locking wallmount brackets for 79xx

We also have lots of PSU's for the whole 79xx range.

Cisco 7961 + 7914, speeddials, BLF & Asterisk 1.4?
Hi,
Does anyone have any experience with a Cisco 7961 + 7914 Operator
Console setup and speeddials/BLF on Asterisk 1.4? Would appreciate
feedback if this works reliably. I have a 7961 on skinny registering on
an 1.4.19 box with chan_sccp and speeddials work fine so that part seems
ok. I have no experience with the BLF part.

Cisco 7914 Expansion Unit (for 7960G IP Phone) & Help With 7960's Speed-dials
Hi,
Has anybody been successful in running the 7914 expansion unit for the
Cisco 7960G IP phone? For anybody unaware of what the expansion unit
does, it provides 14 additional buttons, with an LCD display. The idea,
is that with an expansion unit (a 7960 can take upto 2 of these units),
a user can either assign more speed-dial's, or can moni...

chan_sccp/SEP<mac>.cnf.xml
HI all:
I have spent a large amount of time configuring/installing phones
connected to Asterisk. Halfway through the process I discovered that my
Cisco7960 with 2 7914 expansions was not supported in the SIP protocol.
After reverting to SCCP 6.0(4.0) I am now perplexed with the hassle of
configuring SCCP to properly work with Asterisk.
So far I have gotten the phone to dial and receive calls from the other
participating SIP 7.2 phones on the LAN. Obviously th...

Cisco 7914 with sccp
I was wondering if anyone had any experience getting a 7960+7914 working
with any of the chan_sccp modules. I've got a 7960G with 6.0(5.0) and a
factory fresh 7960G with 3.1(MF.G2). I've got 2 7914s fresh out of the box
brand new. I hook them up and all I get is red lights on all of the
buttons. When I go into the phone to see what version firmware t...

chan_sccp and CISCO CP-7914 Module
Hello list,
Has anyone on list had experience with getting the 7914 module working
with Asterisk, probably using the chan-sccp drivers?
I have 7912 and 7940 phones working OK, I need something for
reception, and I was thinking a 7960 with two of these modules would
handle it, but need to know that someone has got it working somewhere
(seeing lines that are free, b...

Busy Lamp Field SIP Phone
...is bad, the
button layout is too busy, and I've found it very hard to train my users
how to use.
Has anyone else had the same experience with the 360s? I'm ready to
replace them with anything. I put Polycom 501's in for everyone else and
they are wonderful.
Does the Cisco 7960 + 7914 work well for such an application? Keep in
mind it has to show free/busy status of 20 although I guess we could get
by with 14 if the 7960 + 7914 is a solid option. I'm in Louisville, KY
if anyone knows of a distributor or retailer that I could demo a unit
from.
Thanks

Cisco 79xx + asterisk + some functions Q
...phones (1 x 7970, 4 x 7960, 20 x 7905 / 7912) + 4 ISDN
BA connections using ELSA ISDN (Hisax compliant) boards.
I will use SIP between Cisco CP 79xx and Asterisk, and
mainly the ISDN gateway towards the public network.
Q's:
1) Status info: can I see on my 7960 equipment (eventualy
with the 7914 extension) who is free/busy and alike ?
2) Can I use 1 button press on that 7960 to transfer the
call to that free line ?
3) Besides the physical differences, are there functional
differences between 7960, 7940, 7912, 7905 ?
(ea, are there functions (like hold, transfer, ...
that are...

Cisco 7961G + 7914 Expansion Module
All,
Since I have now (at least partially) got my 7961G phones working
with Asterisk, I have temporarily moved on to try to get the expansion
modules working. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of
documentation here either. Does anyone have this combination working
(or any 79X1) here?
My goal is ultimately to do the monitoring approach. I have Google'd
around, but come up

Operator Panels?
Ok, we're trying to use Asterisk as a PBX in our office. Our original
plan was to use a Cisco 7960 with a 7914 attached. Short story is, no
one updated chan_sccp in a long time and the 7914 is questionable at
best anyway from what I've heard. We couldn't ever get chan_sccp to
compile, I went to an older version of Asterisk and that broke some of
our SIP devices. We tried using a couple soft panels l...

Problem with chan_sccp and cisco 7960
Hi !
On Cisco 7960 (with or without 7914 add-on module) when I press speakerphone
button (or select line with line button - which automatically put second
line on speakerphone) after about 15-20 seconds of dialtone Asterisk stable
dies (seg fault). Tested versions of Asterisk are 1.0.2, 1.0.3 or 1.0.5,
chan_sccp is newest form CVS of chan...

Wishlist: more flexible handling of tick labels in axis.Date (PR#7914)
I think allowing the user to change the labels is a good idea, but have
some nitpicking about the details.
- Could you grab a copy of the current axis.Date source from
https://svn.r-project.org/R/trunk/src/library/graphics/R/datetime.R
and edit that, rather than what you see in R? There are some comments
in the source that shouldn't be lost. This will also mean that it's
easier to

Has anyone connected to 7960 with console cablefor setup?
The 'console' port or RS232 port is used to connect the 7914
sidecar, which does not work with the SIP firmware.

SIP Presence across two servers
...nce related works wonderfully for local users, but I'm hoping there's a way we could get presence for the people "at the other end of the pipe" fairly transparently.
We have a lot of cross-office collaboration, and our office manager/receptionist (who has the battleship of a 7961G+7914+7914 BLF) would love to "at a glance" know if the remote folks are available for a call or not.
I'm sure this has been covered, but my Googlefu us turning up a ton of redundant, old, and deprecated information so I've resorted to asking here.

This is something I've been trying to work out.
I bought a Cisco 7914 for the Cisco 7960's we have, which according to
the box, allows users to see the status of other lines. Hmmm...
In closer view, it seems the Cisco Call Manager itself pushes updates
to the phone... Something that a standlone application polling Asterisk
could do... Better yet, chan_sccp is...

However the support is still not fully functional (some issues), but
please test this whenever possible and report bugs !
Next thing is the 7914 addon, some people eagerly awaiting :-)
