Problem with cron
I have a root cron job that powers down my server every day at 1am and
6pm. The output of '# crontab -l' is shown below.
* 1,18 * * * poweroff
Last night, after the server powered down at 6pm, I decided I wanted to
use the server so I started it with the power button. The server, after
a minute or so, powered itself down. This behaviour happened repeatedly...

Hello,
In about one hour we should be chatting with Tim Behrins of Voxbone
about their initiative, iNum. I say "should" because he's the
scheduled guest, but I haven't heard from him today :)
Next week, we'll be "Hacking VoIP"
Feel free to top post your answers, it seems to stimulate conversation.

datetime_select custom input fields
by default datetime_select allows the user to input any date and time
they want.
Is there a way it can only allow a user to select an hour between 8AM
and 6PM and only allow them to choose the top of the hour (:00) and
the half hour (:30) for the minute?

Weird Secure log timestamp problem
...epted password for root from
::ffff:10.10..161.102 port 58017 ssh2
Mar 8 10:09:02 server123 sshd[6698]: Accepted password for root from
::ffff:10.10..161.102 port 58017 ssh2
This snippet is in order that it appears in the database. Notice the
timestamp. It starts off thinking it's almost 6pm then reverts th the
correct time of almost 10am, then to 6pm, then back to 10am and so on
and so forth.
Upon looking back even further, I can see that this has been happening
as far back as the secure logs go... Early February.
Checking through other machines, most seem to have this behavior, b...

Melbourne puppet catch up?
...edge but I would be happy to organize an irregular catch up in Melbourne where we can talk puppet and other things of interest.
I was thinking the Wednesday the 20th of this month would be good - somewhere in the city after work. Thinking ''the Workshop'' in Elizabeth street around 6pm. (for those in Melbourne Florida USA you''ll never find it - but if you''re visiting Oz you''re welcome to attend).
Open invitation to those that can attend. Those that can''t, maybe another time?
Cheers,
Den

joining data based upon a moving time window?
...te/TIME and extracting the data from that time. The
problem is the way Ive written it, for location #2, it scans through the
weather data but will not allow the closest time information to be assigned
that was assigned for location#1. Say location #1 & 2 are taken within 10
minutes at 6pm and 6:10pm, the closest weather time is 6pm. I can't get it to
allow the weather data at 6pm as an option for location #2. I kind of set it
up like this because 200 locations into my location data set (say 3 months into
it), I do not want it starting at time 1 from the weather data, wh...

[LLVMdev] 2012/01/04 -- LLVM Social, New Years Edition!
Greetings from the future!
Our trusty Canadian LLVMer and Socializer is off in Canada land, but FEAR
NOT! The Social carries on in my less competent hands! There shall be beer!
There shall be pub food! It shall be awesome!
WHAT: Beer, scotch, burgers, and stuff.
WHEN: 6pm PST
WHERE: Tied House, in downtown Mountain View (http://g.co/maps/p374r)
If you are planning on attending, please reply OFF LIST to me and let me
know. I know, I know, the Canadian is far more competent at this and has
the lovely website with confirmation and stuff... but it's all too complex...

[OT] OMG Verizon is terrible
Had an appointment for these schmoes to come out and install another
line. Was supposed to be 8-12. Its now 6PM and not even call. Missed
3 sales calls waiting on these jerks.
No wonder customers were jumping ship to Vonage.
