Very large quantity of files
Hello, to explain: I have two machines running the same hard- and software. Each has two harddrives 80GB/40GB with 500 megs of RAM and a 650MHz PIII, running SuSE Linux 7.1 with Kernel 2.2.18. They are connected on a local 100Mbps Ethernet. The harddrives are pretty full (total ~94GB) with a very large quantity of small files. The initial copy has taken about 48 hours. - I didn't worry much about that. - So, know rsync shall run e...

...mannually patched it to Asterisk 1.2.18 Zaptel 1.2.17.1 Digium HPEC 8 (9 is not working right) Sangoma A200 with the wanpipe-3.1.0.p21-zaptel-patched drivers installed I've tried recompiling all these too. Since installing the g729 I've tried the different cpu types (the machine is a P3 650MHz) and found that the i686 works most reliably. any help much appreciated as I've search the Internet and this mailing list and am still stuck Harvey -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Two "pre-migration" questions
I have read the migration docs. They seem to relate to migrating from one imap product to dovecot on the same server. I'm interested in migrating my Maildir-formatted email from one server to another. 1. Can I tar my ~/mail directory on serverX.com, untar it on a different physical serverY.com (initially with a different domain name), and still see my mail when I access imap.serverY.com

When to use Echo Cancellation cards?
In what scenarios non-Echo Cancellation cards (T1/E1/FXO) should be used ? Don't all good and professional installations need echo cancellation cards? Are there people out there with non-Echo Cancellation cards for T1 or 8 FXO ports and who really don't have any echo issues and they are running serious businesses? -- Zeeshan A Zakaria -------------- next part -------------- An HTML

Several files's checksum change without reason
Hi list, I'm a bit worried here. On a server, Centos 4.3 fully-patched SELinux activated, Osiris (a decentralized scanner for files changes on distant servers) signaled me several changes on files who were not (at first sight) affected by a recent update (the list is below). Is there a logic explanation for those changes to happen ? The "rpm -Va" command does not output md5sum

SMP Performance
We're looking at implementing Asterisk in our department in the near future, we're looking at anywhere from 15-25 extensions. The machine we were looking at running this on was a Quad Xeon 450mhz (2MB L2 Cache) w/ 1GB of ram. I've heard bad things about running Asterisk on SMP machines? Would we be running into any performance issues with this machine? Tim Jackson Network Engineer
