Echo problem update - POSSIBLE SOLUTION
...q
DL380 dual PIII-833MHz (notice a slower machine) w/ hardware scsi raid.
Same T1 cards, same compile method, and NO echo on the DL... We did
manage to get the echo to almost un-noticable on the Supermicro, but it
was still there. There is NO echo on the DL380 We are currently
testing the Compaq 6400R for compatability and will let the list know
how it goes.
When we install asterisk we DO modify the makefile for the zaptel
source to look like this... (you'll add 2 lines, the Mark2 and
Aggressive_suppressor)
KFLAGS+=-DSTANDALONE_ZAPATA
KFLAGS+=-DECHO_CAN_MARK2
KFLAGS+=-DAGGRESSIVE_SUPPRESSO...

strange echo problem
We have a strange echo problem. Maybe echo isn't the correct term.
When we make a call f/ a SIP phone (we have several 7960's, some 3coms,
and I've even tried a softphone, all on the same 100BaseTX network) to
the pstn, if the person I'm calling has a PRI or channelized T1 f/ Bell,
then the sound is perfect, couldn't be better.
If I make a call to a person with a plain POTS

Echo on a PRI
Hi,
I recently set up the following in a production system (2.8 GHZ Xeon, 1 Gig
Memory, Dell 2650).
Telco - PRI - Asterisk - T1 - PBX
I am getting an occasional noticeable echo on some of the phone lines
(random inbound and outbound). Everyone I ask keeps telling me that I can't
be having echo since I am on a PRI, which is a digital circuit. Ok, so I
can't be having echo, but I am!
