Speex 1.1.2 - Try it on ARM

Encoding on an XScale-PXA255 @ 400MHz: First I tried narrowband, at 24kbps, with verbose output: # time speexenc -n --bitrate 24000 --comp 1 -V test-8kHz-60sec.wav test-8kHz-60sec.spx Encoding 8000 Hz audio using narrowband mode (mono) Bitrate is use: 18200 bps real 1m8.042s user 0m48.240s sys 0m11.220s I guessed the verbose output was slowing it down, so: # time speexenc -n --bitrate 24000 --comp 1 test-8kHz-60sec.wav test-8kHz-60sec.spx En...

Speex 1.1.2 - Try it on ARM
Hi, I just released unstable version 1.1.2 that contains more fixed-point work. Though it's still not 100% complete, enough have been done to make it run in real-time on ARM. In order to do that, compile with --enable-fixed-point --enable-arm-asm. All narrowband modes work in real-time with complexity 1 (some work with higher complexity) and some wideband modes also work (up to ~20 kbps) at

Problem with Tripp Lite SMART 1300LCDT on and off
....41 This is the information the driver is able to pull UPS status OL UPS model TRIPP LITE UPS Manufacturer Tripp Lite Vendor ID 09ae Product ID 3016 OS is FreeBSD/XigmaNAS v11.2 The issue is that for every 30sec that the driver is able to pull the information it will lose connection for about 60sec; maybe it is unable to poll information.  What parameters I can use to stop the disconnect?  Or a proper way to diagnose what the real issue is?  I already tried the physical connection.  Replaced USB cord with a known cable that works with another UPS and changing USB ports. -------------- next...

Did you check to see what your DNS is showing? - Richard

Queue questions - Asterisk 11
...call in queue has been answered or if caller just hangup? Second, how to deal with timeout, I have strange behaviors. If I put timeout=60 in queue.conf and I call the queue passing also 60 as timeout value, asterisk is returning after 5000ms the 4000 then 2000 then 2000 aso. I can replace the 60sec value on both place, or 60 in queue conf and 10 when calling queue, I never have a stable behavior and more, not what I want. Exemple: let say asterisk should try all 20 seconds to call the member for 8 seconds: how to configure this? What I found, is to put timeout=0 in queue conf and passing...

XScale realtime encoding possible?
Hi all, I've got a 400MHz XScale-PXA255 board, and I want to stream voice from it over a network connection at 28.8baud. This calls for a capable voice encoder which can encode at about 24kbps. I was damn happy when I found Speex and said goodbye to MP3 :) However, i'm still a long way from realtime encoding using speexenc, is this possible? Using the fixed point math option in

Dovecot IDLE problem (was Re: inotify support in dovecot)
Hi, I've come across some possibly buggy behaviour with regards to Dovecot and the use of the IDLE keyword. Found this while testing out inotify support for Johannes - although after asking him and him reproducing it, he is of the opinion that it's not a inotify specific problem. The behaviour is that when the client is idling, Dovecot seems to only alert to the first new message

...'file changed as we read it' error I've posted about to this group some days ago. Enabling consistent metadata didn't resolve the problem. A side effect was that access performance worsened (~1 second for an ls in a directory with 252 files, ~50sec to extract a 16MB tar archive and ~60sec to remove the extracted files again). Another side effect were hundreds of metadata selfheal log messages per minute. Meanwhile I disabled the consistend metadata setting again but the log messages are still present. I could not find an error or warning as to why self healing is running at all. [2...
