Hi, there! I'm having kind this same problem https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-help/2008-October/178221.html but I want to display another plot of my data, which is a point with two arrows indicating confidence interval, in the same graph that I've just plotted another, but the "add=T" is not functioning, I'm getting the same error Warning messages: 1: In plot.window(...)

Experiences with CentOS & MacBook Pro?
Ok, I'm finally of a mindset to replace my now tired, aging Dell Inspiron 600m. I'm currently running Fedora Core on it, and am fairly happy with the software. Has anybody used CentOS on a Macbook Pro? What gotchas are there? (The first that comes to mind is the lack of a right mousebutton) Scouting on the Internet, I've seen that some people have trouble gettin...

deleting a file
Has anyone observed this behavior when deleting a file? I had a user map a Samba share to his WIN2K machine and use the Windows Explorer delete function to delete a rather large file (600M). Windows prompted him in the usual manner: 'Are you sure you want to delete this file?' (By the way it was the actual "delete" warning, not the recycle bin warning.) In the Explorer window, the file disappeared. When he refreshed the window, the file reappeared. It hadn't...

About cluster size (read/write)
...e some file in ocfs2 disk, but when i read some data this size are small part that i can read? Or smal part are block-size to read? cluster-size are only to optimize fragmentation? I create my ocfs2 mounts with block-size 4k and cluster-size 1M and i have few files per filesystem with more than 600M. When i append one file ocfs2 will increase cluster-size? and when i read, i read all cluster-size from disk? Can someone explain more about this? Radeon 9000 breaks with CentOS 4.4
Dell Inspiron 600M w/ Radeon 9000 card. This worked with CentOS 4.3, also works with Knoppix 4.0.2. Graphical installation succeeds, but upon reboot, and all subsequent rebbots, graphical mode does not work, the screen becomes black. In addition to the 2.6.9-42 kernel, we have also tried the 2.6.9-42.0.2 kerne...

SELinux resource hog
...is Intel Core 2 Duo box with 2GB of ram (usually with some 1GB free) was generally below 0.4 for the last 24hrs, averaging 0.23 based on MRTG. Once I did setenforce 1, load shot through the roof to fluctuate between 3 to 5. As per my past experience setroubleshootd started chewing up ram more than 600M and 500M worth of virt and res based on top. The server started crawling and php apps stopped communicating with mysql. I had to kill setroubleshootd in order to return things to normal. This again reflects my original experience with SELinux: massive resource hog and this is just a lowly loaded...

drbd + ext3 + interbase + data lost
Hello All, Yesterday, one of our customer's cluster(2 box) server goes down after a I/O error during the backup procedure. When we turn on the cluster again, the 600M database file have been lost, disapear. Now, I'm with one of the disks (the other was used to rebuild the database server) and need to know how can I recover any piece of data from the disk. After the crash we mount the disk's partition read-only just to see the damage. We tried debugfs b...

Slow reshape from 5x600000 to 6311 x 132
...ot;5500073" "5500073" ... (etc., etc.) This takes about 4-8 hours to accomplish. Should I a) try to put it into the wide format row by row as I get the data from the DB instead of using dbReadTable, or b) try to tune something in R? (I'm trying it now with R --min-vsize=600M --min-nsize=6M although it's not seeming fast; I won't know if it's faster for a while). (Using home compiled R 1.8.1 on Mac OS X 10.3.2, under emacs/ESS, although my R 1.8.1 on Solaris 2.8 has been churning for a few hours as well (on a split of the data that is 630 variables by 10...

/boot partition running out of space randomly. Please help!
...o all First off, I am running Oracle Linux 7.6 on a Hyper-V 2016 VM for a customer. I know this is not an Oracle Linux mailling list, but because Oracle Linux and CentOS are so similar, to an extent, I figured why not ask on here because someone MIGHT know the answer.. Here is the issue. I have a 600MB /boot partition allocated on a UEFI system. The /boot/efi partition is on a separate EFI partition. Recently, I noticed that this system has been crashing every few minutes and when I checked the disk space, I noticed that the /boot partition has zero free space available. I removed all of the o...

Memory woes
Hello all- I'm having some problems with memory consumption under R. I've tried increasing the appropriate memory values, but it keeps asking for more; I've even upped the heap size to 600M, significantly eating into swap (256M real, 500+M swap). So, performance slows to a crawl. What I'm trying to do is run isoMDS on a 4000x4000 matrix. My first question is, how much memory should this matrix occupy? Is it ~4000^2 * sizeof(double)? I have an idea about what's going on, b...

reading large data sets
I have some difficulties in reading big dataset; I have to import a dataset with 1'661'852 observations saved in a 51.4Mb - txt file. I was wandering if this is a memory size problem or if I realy can't import such big datasets. If the memory allocated to my R is not enough, I would like to know exactly which comands I should use in order to read and use my large dataset. I
