Can this config sustain 30 users?
I have this server I need to put to work. The option I have is to make it work as a small office PBX with SIP users and a Digium E1 Card for PSTN service. 24 SIP users and one E1 card in an Intel 945board (533 Front side bus) with 1GB DDR 533mhz of ram, one Pentium Dual Core 2.66 ghz (FSB 533MHZ) and two 80GB SATA disks. Can the box sustain the load? I can add another 1gb of ram if necessary. Just PBX and voicemail, no fancy sutff like call recording... maybe a simple autoattendant like "thank you for calling, please press one for......

Need 3.3v 64 PCI Booard with 800FSB (for ordinary Pentium4, not Xeon)
Just spended ~ hour googling - all boards are based on GC-XX or I750X Chipsets - all for Xeons. There also some boards for Pentium 3. Can someone point me to a board with 64Bit 3.3v PCI for ordinary P4 with 800Mhz FSB. Thanks

How does the PCI bus effect latency and echo?
Hello All, I was wondering, how does the PCI bus effect echo and latency? I know a large part of the echo issues out there have to do with the pci bus latency, but are there any suggestions on the hardware side to minimize this? For example, a 533mhz vs 800mhz fsb, would it have any effect on communications? Even on a low load server, I am trying to decide if getting a dell poweredge server is worth the effect, versus using an intel board or asus board. Regards, Greg

I am trying to build asterisk-0.9.0 on 533MHz 160MB Redhat Linux 9.0 machine. I have followed the instructions to build asterisk. Building zaptel and libpri seemed to go well (lots of messages but nothing that indicated an error) However, when I do the make clean ; make install for asterisk-0.9.0 after running for sometime I get the fol...

Basically, the only thing interesting (from the POV of Speex) in the ARM5E arch is the DSP-like instructions that can do 16x16 multiplies in a single cycle.

Flac 1.1.4 decoding time increase
...iles reencoded to 1.1.4 takes longer (about 5%) to decode. Josh suggested this was due to optimisation issues, which seems quite sensible. Improving v2 connection exchange.
I just finished net-installing OpenBSD on my Sparc (yay.. <sigh>), and I'm noticing how extremely slow it is to connect (20 - 30 seconds) as compared to v1 protocol to the Sparc.. or even v2 from my dual 533mhz to itself. (The sparc is a ss20 w/ a 150mhz processor, it's works nicely after the key exchange is finished.) Is there any reasonable way to improve the connection speed for v2 on slower hardware? debug: Sending SSH2_MSG_KEX_DH_GEX_REQUEST. debug: Wait SSH2_MSG_KEX_DH_GEX_GROUP. d...

This is how it looks: http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/8069/wineerrormsg.png Does anyone know that this strange "error"-message is trying to say? I'm running Linux Slitaz on an old Compaq Armada 100S, 533mhz processor and 192mb RAM. I've tried running Spotify on Xubuntu Linux with the same computer and the same error-message appears. Any recomendations for Motherboards?
What socket AM2 motherboards out there work well with xen (i.e. support > 4G ram, sata and lan chipsets work). I''m looking to probably run one of the lowpower Athlon 64 X2 4200''s in it. I''d also like to see atleast 4 ram slots. Anyone have any recomendations? Thanks, Doug _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list

Linux Kernel Timer Frequency and Asterisk
Ok here is a real geek question, I building my own linux kernel for my asterisk system and came across the kernel setting for the timer frequency. I have one of 3 hardcode choices 100Hz, 250 Hz and 1000Hz. From what I understand the default Freq was changed from 100Hz in kernel 2.4 to 1000Hz (1KHz) in kernel 2.6. Timing is a BIG issue in asterisk with all the TDM and zap channel stuff.
