new rsync release needed soon?
On the subject of needed patches, I just recently completed a patch for librsync that fixed the mdfour code to have uint_64 or 2 uint_32's for size. Without this, the checksums on files >512Megs are incorrect. The code should drop into rsync without a hitch. The same goes for mdfour in samba, becuase that is where librsync got the code from anyway. New to the list and one quick question
Hi all, Let me start off with a little back ground. I am running right now RH9 fully updated on a Dell PowerEdge 1600SC with 512megs of Ram, 18G SCSI HD. I run this at home so this is no critical server, unless you ask my girls when I have it down, I have been debating on upgrading to Fedora until I started looking at CentOS. I have download the ISO and burned them with X-CD-Roast. Here is my question: I tried running the...

Samba problems in stable?
...ince the server was restarted. The closest match is on google from 1999 and there's no reply. Samba.org doesn't even have any matches on their search page I can find. Anyone have any ideas what could cause this? Kernel 2.4.26-bk1 Samba 2.0.7-1 Debian Stable The hardware is a P3-850 with 512Megs of ram. Most of the files being accessed are nfs mounted from a hardare appliance (SNAP). Robert :wq! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Robert L. Experiences with Fedora 1
Hi all- Over the past week or two, I've been trying out asterisk under Fedora 1 Linux (RedHat). In my setup (single and dual Xeon motherboards), I have so far had a very good experience in terms of performance. In doing E1 load testing, I've found that Fedora handles heavy load much better than RedHat9, probably because of its better use of the multi-threading capabilities of the Xeon.
